    using compressed audio in your audio tools is a waste of energy. each time you save, you will lose quality.

    well, i guess if that's the sound you're going for, it might work out. kind of like how basic channel used to record their drum tracks to cassette tape before mixing everything down.

    You just said it. Lack of backward compatibility between major versions of the operating system isn't uncommon. Stuff that worked fine in System 6 broke in System 7 (lots of it, actually). Same with 8 and 9, but less so.

    For one of my senior-year classes at URI, we took apart the remote to a cheap car and did a similar trick of using transistors to simulate the switch-hitting.

    We connected the transistors to the parallel port of a Motorola ColdFire eval board and wrote some software to program routes.

    It would have been useful if the damn thing had any range whatsoever, but we spent a whole nine dollars on the car, so I'm not worried.

    Could it be that this law is responsible for the decline of many of my favorite sites? Maybe, but I would rather blame the government than the fickle porn market.
