If they have used ReiserFS, they wouldn't have ended up getting sued by NetApp. Plus, it might even help getting rid of the the annoying wife at home also!
DDR3 modules can transfer data at the effective clock rate of 800â"1600 MHz (see here)
That means DDR3-1600 is the max speed as a standard. Anything faster than DDR3-1600 is already an overclocked memory by the memory manafacture.
However, Nehalem supports up to DDR3-1333 only.
Other features discussed include support for DDR3-800, 1066, and 1333 memory. (see here)
As a hardware enthusiast (but not an overclocker), I would rather be using a DDR3-1600 memory.
Understandably, the overclocking community would want to use DDR3-2000 or faster (if any).
Personally, I would not be buying Nehalem until a newer one comes out
with at least DDR3-1600 or faster support.
Why can't they (the big guys) create an "Internet Police" to blacklist certain domains from the Internet that are spreading those malwares?
I have read the news that some people have been working on finding out sites with malware on it using Google.
Have the "Internet Police" contact the Web Admin of the "offending" site to clean up their own server.
If they don't clean it up after a certain time, stop performing the DNS.
Ok, I *do* realize that this is really difficult and comes with crapload of legal and drama issues, but I say we have to start from somewhere to take action on this.
It passes it BUT it does not pass it anymore if you change the Default font to Cambria.
I have the Vista fonts because I have Office 2007 on my Windows XP Pro SP2.
I like the Cambria font better than Times New Roman,
so I change the Default font under "Tools ==> Options ==> Content" tab.
Then, try refreshing the page for the ACID2 test (http://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html/)
and the smiley looks weird and it fails the ACID2 test.
@Jtheletter
coloRECTAL implant Somehow I don't like the sound of the product name.
No thank you, I think i will keep my behind as I was born with.
No fricken implants in there.

Here's what skilled PR departments do:
Make strong statements of integrity. Fire someone. Institute a new policy or two.
Devise a system of compensating those wronged. Spend money on public relations,
advertising and technological improvements. George Bush, is that you?
Claim (regardless of truth) that the problem has been solved and that (wait for it...)
the reason people hate you is because your products are so damn good. This has GOTTA be Bush.
Windows is not secure......Bad Microsoft
Security (a.k.a, User Account Control (UAC) for Trigger-Click-Happy People who click "Yes" no matter what).....Bad Microsoft
Give me a break....Bashing Microsoft just-because-I-hate-Microsoft (a.k.a, Linux fan bois)
is getting too old and childish. Grow up people!
It is a "No-Matter-What-Blame-Microsoft" attitude.
Overall, I think Vista is a gradual evolution of the Windows platform.
Just like every other company, Microsoft had to make hard Business decisions.
That is why, they delayed one of the most anticipated features
like WinFS because it is NOT ready and solid yet.
In my opinion, Microsoft is focusing on releasing a STABLE OS
rather than an error prone insecure OS.
Rubbish. I use Hotmail, a friend of mine uses gmail. I've not had any problems getting his mails, and I've not even had to whitelist him for the spam filter.
This story is the biggest pile of turd I've read on Slashdot - and I've read some pretty strong contenders.
I've sent GMail invitation to my friends using Hotmail myself, AND they received it successfully within seconds and accepted it within the last three days.
Make it $5/month and I'll get it.

Forget Cthulhu....Worry more about waking up the motherfuckin' Kraken!
and not to mention most /.ers have yet to find the G-spot *ducks head*
You mean something like this?
Monster.com ==> Monster.jobs
BlowJobs.com ==> Blow.jobs
I am not running Windows.......oh wait nvm

I couldn't care less about WoW. Where is my StarCraft II?

Ok, I *do* realize that this is really difficult and comes with crapload of legal and drama issues,

And of course, some countries make it difficult (if not impossible)
to track down those malware spreaders *coughRussiacoughForExample* http://www.technewsworld.com/story/33127.html?welcome=1209421471/

Now I say "Fuck those Russian bastards and their corrupted government and law enforcement agencies."

Even worse, just don't go to http://www.whitehouse.com/ and you will be seeing unexpected results !!
On a side note, I read the article at first as

I have a dirty dirty mind.....if you read it the same way I did, you DO also have a dirty mind. Pervs!

Next time, they will discover The Gene that makes us think
the genes are the primary driving force for all our behaviors?
Here's a short comparison to VS
I'm a Visual Studio .NET guy. I'm not saying VS .NET is a 100% bug free program, but however it has these features.
- really "intelligent" to know the context
- faster (or) more responsive than any other IDE
- language parser works unobtrusivly while coding
- Customization of the IDE GUI is easy
I spent a long time trying to figure out how to remap Shortcut keys in Eclipse, and it made me so frustrated to the point that I stopped trying.
Just those above 4 reasons make me love VS
What makes a great IDE is getting rid of those small annoyances
rather than having a very great feature in the first place for me.
What do you guys think?
