    Did you read even the synopsis? He had a module named the same as a Instant Messaging program. The IM program lawyers insisted that that module be pulled (it didn't do IM). When it was pulled he got frustrated and pulled everything he did from the repository. He didn't "dump it into the public domain". He chose a name that someone else had used.

    The demo unit is to be 7 meters in diameter and 10 meters tall. (the test unit that they are working on is 1 meter diameter by 2 meters tall) So fairly large (roughly the size of a compact fission reactor that you could see on a naval vessel) but still smaller than a tokamak by a significant amount.

    Easements are only paid for once (usually prior to any building occurs) and the city/village gets the money.     I like that idea, hey there must be a shortage of "C" level executives since they make so much, lets H-1B a bunch of them in from 3rd world companies. We should be able to drop the median CEO salary from ~500 times the average employee to ~50 times the average employee.

    BUT... the original owner gets a refund on unused parts of his service contract. Which btw is only sold in 1 year contracts. Will Sony give back the original seller the unused portion of his 1 year of online when he sells his game? They are, after all, getting that money back from the second user.

    Texas was an independent Nation for 9 years, recognized by the US, France and Great Britain.
    Hawaii was an independent Nation for ~79 years and was recognized by most of Europe and the US. It was a de-facto Nation for ~700 years prior to the ascension of the first king of the island group.

    Other than those, no other US States could claim to be independent Nations.

    As far as your #3 point, according to the Smithsonian Institution, piezoelectric crystals, and specifically quartz crystals can reach 95% efficiency in converting mechanical energy to electrical energy.
