Microsoft should stand to gain from this. Since you will no longer have to use the same messenger program as other users, most users will probably start using the one that comes with their system. Most won't bother downloading a new program, even if it's better. I think IE is proof of that.
"Non-techies that use Mozilla assume it's 'safe' because a geek once told them that this is the case."
Non-techies are more likely to assume that the "Internet" that came with their computer is safe too. Which they really should. Unfortunately this is not the case.
I've recently gotten a rise in these scams, not really sure why.
Anyway, my solution was a spam filter for Nigeria, Liberia, and client. I have a feeling this would work for just about everyone.
True, but maybe then maybe people will stop using software that allows your computer to be highjacked. Then perhaps, the software company will be forced to fix their software.
Same here, my wife usually rolls her eyes at things like this. She doesn't like changes to her computer. But after using it a few times she liked it. I think anyone can use it if they give it a shot. Unless they use some IE only programs or services, Damn MSN.
Just a heads up to firefox users. SpyBot 1.3 now works with Firefox. It caught a few bad cookies on my work computer. I've never noticed them before with spybot 1.2, but it shows firefox isn't completely safe. However I'll take the 5-6 cookies over the 20+ cookie and registry problems SpyBot found when I was using IE.
These have been around for years. Problem is that for those of us in the US there aren't alot of diesel engines available. I also question whether new high tech diesels, which often require more and more expensive fuel, will run decently on this used frying oil. Only VW currently sells a diesl passenger car in the US. Other than the Golf Rabbit, your choices for a used car aren't very good either. You may be able to find an old Mercedes or Olds Diesel, but there aren't many of those around anymore.

Mozilla is 1 year old.
Wonder how long until FireFox turns 1.0?

This is more thant well known. Bugzilla
First the Government recommends it, now they are financially supporting it. What's next, they prosecute Microsoft?

That's why I use SpellBound
E-mail scams! Wait till my friend from Nigeria hears about this!
I'm still having problems when open a new window by clicking on my quick launch button. The new window fails to work.
Anyone else have this problem?

I've always wondered how my coworkers who "only" go to major sites like Yahoo and Ebay, pick up all sorts of spyware and adware.

Maybe they were made by Hyundai.

Gee who would have thought that ignoring the warning to change your password would be a bad idea.
