The summary doesnt make it clear but laser pointers have become a real problem. Many idiots think its funny to shine them at pilots and its started to occur frighteningly often. There have been a number of close calls when pilots have been blinded.
They arent banning your regular laser pointers. Just the stupidly powerful ones which most people do not need. Cool for popping a balloon, not so cool when its in a pilot's face with hundreds of people's lives in the balance.
Yeah thats it getting the four presses and finding the middle of them. I think it may be able to sense how strong your pressing (with the capacitance sensor) to do the sliding trick.
Put two fingers on a normal track pad and it cannot tell where your fingers actually are. It can see a press in four places instead of two.
You could write some tricky software to emulate it but it wouldnt be as good. E.g. Pinpoint the location of the first finger that touched and then use that information to work out where the second is.
Making a fuss isnt worth it.
Its not about asking questions. Its about if its actually worth it.
Your going to get searched anyway. Best to get it over and done with quickly.
Looking vs touching. I'd go with the looking personally.
They see tons of people every day. Its nothing special to them.

Yeah this is just idiots being paranoid.
Plus he'd probably be too busy to pay attention. ;)
He does have a brand new (still in bubble wrap) Apple laptop after all.
Yeah. Turn off adblock and noscript before reading TFA please.
:)
That'll teach them for using flash ads.
Give me the connection, I'll figure out how to use it. :)

I'll grab a copy of it right after Duke Nukem Forever.
No, it cant mess around with the browser.
It can mess around with Flash and execute arbitrary code with either browser but not mess with the browser its self.
If its all about control, then whats the music and animations for?
How on earth can you navigate a flash website if your blind?
You might as well stick to HTML.
HTML is easy to navigate if your blind.
E.g. With Lynx/Links you can surf the net with the arrow keys.
Its not too bad but it does cause some interesting side effects.
:P
What? You thought kangaroos were natural?
Thats assuming that the humans obey the program.
People like routines and dont like random changes.
In the last 2 weeks I have gotten 80 emails (thats not including conversations but meh).
In the same period I've gotten 25,818 spam.
That means 99.69% of all my email is spam.
No, IE ignores chunks of HTTP as well as HTML.
The more content they have off your site, the more visitors they send.
:)
The visitors *do* generate ad revenue.
No, Letters just make them think, "Hey maybe this issue will help me get re-elected."
Hmm...I wouldnt want to put Vista on it in that case.
That would be illegal.
They dont have any right to do that.
No, your not doing it right.
:)
When you screw up your supposed to blame the crappy computers which the IT dept set up.
Of course you take all the credit when you do something well.
You want dual monitors then.
I love the Gimp with dual monitors.
Multiple images open at the same time and I can still see and manipulate all of them easily.
OOXML in this instance is a screw which you cant unscrew correctly.
The screwdriver for it just doesnt fit.
And dont forget that in the US at least, the size of the people in the car has also increased dramatically. ;)
