    Broad patents fall to prior art, narrow patents fall to small changes. Like everything, it's about balance. That and more than one patent with a spread of specificity, at an average of 10k$ each, just to get them.

    It's basically a 'penny stock'.

    One million $/day trading volume is easily manipulated by any of the big Chinese miners.

    That chart shows 200 bitcoin (including alts)/day as total trading volume. That seems low, for such a popular penny stock.

    They also continued to run uneconomical plants, because they were paid for (which is insane, given the physical plants cost about 2-3% of the lifetime cost). They were typically in bed with the fuel supplier.

    Assuming your right, that bolt is a symptom. If you don't fix the root cause, it will happen again.

    Could just be a collapsed lifter was causing the valve train to hammer. Those bolts don't just fail.

    If you put the same cost on all the suppliers, the price of (even comoditee) products will go up.

    You would hope that one of the players would fix the problem, not see the costs and gain happy customers.

    ISPs only control your speed to the peering point, they _can't_ make that promise in general. Most servers can't support that speed.

    Even with a SLA you have to traceroute and show the slowdown is on the ISPs network.

    He lied to you ('If I ever experience any congestion or loss at all, they will fix it immediately.'), or at best told a half truth.

    The backbones don't have infinite bandwidth. Your ISP doesn't have fiber to all servers.

    I guarantee you they don't even have 500/customer to the nearest peering point.
