"Microsoft says site operators
could insert a metatag disabling Smart Tags, so concerned publishers
could avoid them."
Its like when you can reply to a spam and you'll be removed from the list. No-one cares that I didn't want to be on the list in the first place, and I don't want to work in order to be not screwd. The same applies here I think...
Or Hemos does have a windoz, contrary his claims? Frankly I don't care if someone has windos or not, use it for game or something else, but what is the point in lying about it?!
Well, 'rm' has the ability to wipe your system, too. If you are newbie, don't touch the default sources.list, it's that simple. If you feel like doing things you don't understand, that's your call...
Will it have something like this? It would be really nice to have a single button to press and it would dial in, send and receive letters and then hang up. I'm not saying that it should be a part of the application, but it should call an other application. That's what components are for, right?
the valuations are incorrect: Star Office is not as good as MS Office (this is not flamebait, this is simple
statement of the facts); similarly Windows is in many ways more valuable than Linux (from a
management perspective; in addition, the product is more advanced too - IIS, for example, since it is
integrated into the NT kernel, is faster than Apache).
And how is it relevant? If Star Office would be as good as M$ office, should it be taxed? If I use Tux, should I be taxed as if I used IIS? Since when the tax office has anything to do with the quality of goods on the market?
Who said you can't demand payment for your open source application? Who said it has to has bsd or gpl license? I'd really like to have applications with source even if I'm not allowed to distribute my changes and fixes. But I could, for example, use it on a not officially supported platform...
What I liked the most is that they finally separated the close button from the others. This is really important IMHO, yet almost all the other interfaces get it wrong. Even the new Aqua blow it:-(
In my analogy the webmaster is the receiver of the spam. Who like to think that, to some extent, he controls the look and contents of his site.

There is already some solution for this. See tuples here.

What does the USB support covers in linux as of now?
Szo
IIRC, it was an american astronaut, who bumped into the MIR while docking. Who gave him a driver's license?
Szo
Where can I change this?
Szo
In kde2.0 it was separated from the minimalize and maximalize. Now they're together again. Why did they undo a good choice? :-(
Szo
nstallation is easier under apt-get, perhaps, but what happens when you want to uninstall? Apt-get's uninstall capabilities are horrible.
Could you tell us what exactly you missing?

You can, take a look at this fresmeat article!

The printel friendly version is not at all printer friendly :-(

In the US, maybe. But there's a whole world out there behind the borders...

Give me some details and URLs, please!
Thanks!

You mean part (or should we say "testament" 3?
:-)
You didn't read the linked story, did you
Szo
And the article implies that intel found the workaround.... Did they? As I remember, some of the BSD's got it first. Can someone clear this up?

* more features - unrefutable
Well, a bare windows install has no features compared to my debian install
* easier to use - yep - no XF86Config for Windows users thank you
Setup!=use
* faster - things like KDE are *much* slower than Windows
kde=!linux
* more stable - the Windows GUI is much more stable than than the Linux GUI.
This point shows that you are troll
* more support for hardware, software, etc.
true
* more secure - Windows is harder to crack, because it's not designed so that something like cracking the mouse driver (gpm) gives you root access
Sure, MUA holes are much better, give us a break...

That I actually start longing for a monopoly.
Well, don't. I think the better will win and it's not going to be the wap. We must get rid of it, the sooner the better.
Szo
Why don't you filter him if you don't like it?
Szo
Of course it's possible and easy, but i think its important to have the best possible default, because KDE's target is the inexperienced beginner.
