    Its like when you can reply to a spam and you'll be removed from the list. No-one cares that I didn't want to be on the list in the first place, and I don't want to work in order to be not screwd. The same applies here I think...

    nstallation is easier under apt-get, perhaps, but what happens when you want to uninstall? Apt-get's uninstall capabilities are horrible.

    Well, 'rm' has the ability to wipe your system, too. If you are newbie, don't touch the default sources.list, it's that simple. If you feel like doing things you don't understand, that's your call...

    Will it have something like this? It would be really nice to have a single button to press and it would dial in, send and receive letters and then hang up. I'm not saying that it should be a part of the application, but it should call an other application. That's what components are for, right?

    Well, a bare windows install has no features compared to my debian install

    * easier to use - yep - no XF86Config for Windows users thank you

    Setup!=use

    * faster - things like KDE are *much* slower than Windows

    kde=!linux

    * more stable - the Windows GUI is much more stable than than the Linux GUI.

    This point shows that you are troll

    * more support for hardware, software, etc.

    * more secure - Windows is harder to crack, because it's not designed so that something like cracking the mouse driver (gpm) gives you root access

    Sure, MUA holes are much better, give us a break...

    the valuations are incorrect: Star Office is not as good as MS Office (this is not flamebait, this is simple statement of the facts); similarly Windows is in many ways more valuable than Linux (from a management perspective; in addition, the product is more advanced too - IIS, for example, since it is integrated into the NT kernel, is faster than Apache).

    And how is it relevant? If Star Office would be as good as M$ office, should it be taxed? If I use Tux, should I be taxed as if I used IIS? Since when the tax office has anything to do with the quality of goods on the market?

    Who said you can't demand payment for your open source application? Who said it has to has bsd or gpl license? I'd really like to have applications with source even if I'm not allowed to distribute my changes and fixes. But I could, for example, use it on a not officially supported platform...

    Of course it's possible and easy, but i think its important to have the best possible default, because KDE's target is the inexperienced beginner.

    What I liked the most is that they finally separated the close button from the others. This is really important IMHO, yet almost all the other interfaces get it wrong. Even the new Aqua blow it :-(
