You sure have a hell of a flash on your camera, if it's useful from that distance. If not, you're just stupid not turning it off. If you can't turn it off, you're stupid for buying such crappy camera. You do the math:)
Didn't you have problems with the fan? We also tried to run linux on this laptop and the cpu fan stopped and we could get it run. Of course the laptop overheated, so we had to go back to win:( Any ideas?
The "focus problem" that I've been whining piteously about for so long has been fixed, so I can now actually post to Slashdot with Konqueror in KDE3...
IMO he's right./. should have a separate topic for software release announcements, so people can exclude them. Now you can't just exclude linux, because a lot of other stuff is running under the same topic.
Or:/. could have sub-topic, or topic-modifier flags, so one could exclude linux-announcement, gimp-announcement, and so on...
Well, if you're not a troll, you should quit talking about taste (yes, I can understand that the 'irony' comes from somewhere there), quit dismissing dictionaries and point me somewhere where can I verify your claim. I hope it will trace the two word's roots deep into latin, because in hungarian we have 'szarkazmus' and 'irónia', and I seriously doubt that we got them from english.
Anyway, I have to admit that my confidence came from that I know the Hitchhiker's Guide by heart, and I remembered that Adams uses it in a situation similar to this. It turns out that in the original, it is sarcasm... So, either the translator made a mistake, or the two expression grew to become interchangable. You vote the former, I would like to know why?
Thanks for your kind correction! Would you mind enlightening me, what is the correct expression then? We learned it isn't irony, because one can't be ironic, events can be ironic. What is then saying 'tiny' and meaning 'huge' ?
From that url:
What is Fusion? Fusion is combining the nuclei of light elements to form a heavier element. This is a nuclear reaction and results in the release of large amounts of energy! In a fusion reaction, the total mass of the resultant nuclei is slightly less than the total mass of the original particles. An example can be seen in the Deuterium-Tritium Fusion Reaction. This deuterium-tritium fusion reaction results in an energy gain of about 450:1. This difference is converted to energy as described by Einstein's famous equation, E=mc^2 Deuterium and tritium are both isotopes of hydrogen. Deuterium occurs naturally in nature - about one part in 6000 is found in ordinary water. Tritium can be produced from lithium.
Now please tell me, how is it different from what I just said, and where is the radiated neutron?! Study some physics, it won't hurt you. I know, I did it:)
You're so wrong. The energy production of fusion (and fission for that matter) comes from the difference of the bonding energy of the nuclei before and after the reaction. The helium's is lower than the two deuterium's. The difference if radiated in form of photons.
Go back to your books, because knowledge really rules.
This article may force m$ to explain the difference between various "open source" licenses (thus admit there's more than one, admit linux != "open source", GPL != BSD license, etc.), to prove that they have every right to use BSD stuff. Would be fun to see:)
Does anyone knows? Does it look like as a usd-hdd from the os's point of view?
thx
Szo
It sould be in anime section, so if I filter out anime (I do), I wouldn't see it. This is just a crappy advert, what is it doing on /. anyways?
Teg
Why is it important to have redhat (or linux for that matter) underneath?
Szo
Jesus, the ironytroll is on the loose again! Get a life, man!

What about non-x86 platforms?

Still don't get it, Makefile isn't that hard either...
Szo
surely don't want to spend three weeks finding out how to make gcc work.
What is so hard about gcc? Is
apt-get install gcc
that hard?

If you have stupid and malicious users, ulimit is your friend. And process accounting. And a baseball bat.

ps. Sorry about the troll.
Congratulations, you had to say it slow, and finally I realized, you're a troll. thanks Szo
They appear to be close relatives:
sarcasm
irony

One or two tiny changes? You mean covering the new stuff in kernel 2.4, and updating other sections in the book for 2.4 compliance, is a tiny change?
:)
It's called irony. More or less like a joke, you know. Try looking it up in a dictonary!
Szo
Shuttleworth?!
And the russians still didn't notice this is going to be a practical joke of the week?

Impossible! We need a new word, annoying isn't good enough even now...

BeOS has nothing to do with linux. It's a completely different OS.
