    Exactly, Currently the reason they stop is a longer flight requires more fuel. Airplane feul usage is relational to weight. More fuel is used in the first half of the flight then the second half as the plane weighs less as it uses fuel.

    Umm... dude... Not all Linux is free.

    Yes, I realize these are all "Enterprise" or "Proffesional" versions. But they are the ones designed for running high demand servers.

    Though I don't doubt that there is some profit motive

    Think about it, any long distance you want to travel now stops for a layover, if for no reason then to refuel. Sometimes it's as far as that plane goes tho.

    Now there'll be no need to stop on a flight from New York to Tokyo.

    Um, it IS new, because /. didn't post anything about it before. Even tho I've been using google cache to see files that I usually get a 403 on for a few months now.

    I'm aware of this.

    I wonder, have you ever heard of laughter it is a typical response when someone tells a joke.

    Since the "$" symbol at the beginning is used to reference money, a distance, or size measurement would not be relevant in this case since it said "$150MM" with a dollar sign ($) at the beginning.

    Remember, "Smile and the world smiles with you. Fart and you stand alone."

    Perhaps you'd benefit from a course in comedy appreciation.[/rant]

    Exactly, generally speaking, if my mom's computer came up with VNC on it I would want her to read what it is and remove it since I never installed it. For me, I've got it on my computer for a reason. At Moms office is another story. The internet is dialup, and only available on 2 computers. So I have VNC installed on the server so I can access it from the clients.

    Actually, there's a big difference between the two. the title of the previous article says "Mandrakesoft Acquires Conectiva" as in it already happened. That post was sent to us from the future because this article says that "Mandrakesoft To Aquire Conectiva" as in it hasn't happened.

    With time travelling news reporters named Trillian from Sector ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha, all of our news will be out BEFORE it happens. CNN's "News As It Happens" is a thing of the past....

    Or is that present.

    I agree the article is crap, however. Since Firewire 800 is still new, and only available to Mac users, and probably (I'm guessing I don' know this) needs a different grade cable then this is not a viable option to most of the market.

    Also USB 2.0, being common to Mac and x86 computers and being faster then Firewire 400, this could be a performance decision as well.

    Maybe martian microbes will give us clues towards a cure for these and other illnesses. We haven't had any luck finding cures here.

    I'm also confident in my belief that we could find new minerals on mars, or other planets that could be put to good use as well.

    Even though that circutry handles a few thousand DPI, remember, the print head is the brain of a printer, the rest of it is an interpreter.

    And I'm guessing the circuitry that's built in to each cartrige is free? these calculations don't take the cost of those print controllers into account.

    remember, the ink cartridges for HP and Lexmark have the print heads built on, not seperate. And go to you're local printer repair depot and ask how much to replace the print head on a Canon, or Epson.

    Actually, if I were disabled from the neck down (the opposite of your disabilty from the neck up) I would find this quite insensitive. Well I think you meant insensitive and not "inseneitive"

    Besides, since the technology the parent post spoke of probably won't be "safe" during our lifetimes I see no advantage to being paralyzed. And you wouldn't need to be paralyzed to use the technology either. I can buy a headmouse for myself if I really wanted, but alas, I'm quite comfortable with the one I have.
