I have found that no rating or ruling agency (whether Government or Private) can replace the effects of parents who get involved with their children and actually attempt to understand what their kids are doing and who they're interacting with. I don't care what stamp or rating is put on the outside of the box, if I haven't researched whatever my children are doing, then I'd consider myself a failure as a parent, which is really what the underlying problem is here... not the fact that the ESRB doesn't rate online content / social interaction.
I have the Dell Inspiron mini 10v and it loads Win 7 like a charm. It's extremely fast coming out of sleep mode and is doing great as a development environment (Visual Studio for C# and XNA and Eclipse for Java). The only pain in the butt part of it was upgrading the RAM to 2GB (you essentially have to take almost every screw out of the thing to get access to the bottom of the M.B. where the RAM Chip lives -- definitely not easy access).
With Microsoft's XNA programming wrappers for the DirectX SDK, I thought this was already in the process of happening. XNA games already run on the XBox 360, Windows and Zune. The next logical step is to take it into the mobile community much like iPod apps work on the iPhone. In reality this shouldn't be that big of a surprise to anyone.
Which is what I can't figure out. If the company messed up, why not issue an apology and offer to replace/refund any defective products? Why put a bad light forward that you won't stand behind your products that you sold incomplete and then force your legal team to charge you more money to which they will just settle the class action suit to just do the same (replace the products) in the end anyway?
The problem being that the materials need to come from somewhere... We just can't "beam" it into space I'm sorry to say. The moon however has so much less gravitational pull, if we can set production facilities there somewhere down the road, we will have a perfect base from which to launch probes. But first, we need to get there and set up a permanent colony for the world (not just the United States and our allies). Personally, I know Mars is called the "Red Planet," but I don't want that to stem from a Political distinction either, that's why we need to get there first -- to ensure it stays free for everyone.
The Article cites a senator saying that China will be on the moon in 2017... Do you have any bigger "Evil" competitors in mind?
I wasn't a big supporter of the new Administrator at NASA when he was appointed, but after this, I may have to review what I originally thought about him. I'm a big supporter of manned space flight, it should be NASA's #1 priority to get humans permanently into space and living on the moon, then Mars.
I'll even volunteer to be one of the first inhabitants of this brave "New World"
It's 150 feet long. I'm sure that there's nothing to worry about in that respect. If you're talking something the size of the State of Florida or the entire size of the UK, then maybe you'll have something to think about.
I'm just learning.NET (via Pro C# 2005 and the.NET 2.0 Platform by Andrew Troelsen) but to me, C# is very identical to Java/J2EE, with some minor differences in some of the commands. Otherwise, the fundamental concepts backing both languages are the same.
Now, when you say Advanced Theory in.NET development, are you talking about developing advanced theories using.NET or there are advanced topics in the language which are unique to the.NET platform?
I am interested in how MS Speech Server works, is it hard to program against? The review claims the server (or the program) can respond to each situation differently, obviously someone has to program this in, or is there advanced algorithms are work here which search the database for key words and dumps "possible" matches to the problem/situation out for a human to interpret?
I searched for democracy on google.cn and the first article was from wikipedia. Now I had babelfish translate the word democracy into traditional chinese and you get this interesting little tid-bit back.

THE first space mission to Pluto contains an unusual piece of cargo: ashes from the cremated remains of Clyde Tombaugh, the astronomer who discovered the outermost planet in 1930.

Anyone else happen to read this book?
I've been getting job inquiries for C# programmers from all over the country and have been looking for a refresher book; and one to expand into the more advanced topics.
It's nice to see book reviews, but I have a problem with believing just 1 review. Books which I tend to enjoy or derive a lot of useful information out of, may not work well for others, so I like to see a large number of people who recommend a book.
Slightly off-topic, but any other recommendations out there if this isn't all the reviewer claims it to be?
As if there was a debate in the first place. Even if Intel, AMD, Sony, Nintendo, Hollywood all took on Blu-Ray, HD-DVD would still win out as M$ would just bundle that into their OS and totally divide the market.
The industry tends to go with what M$ wants to go with and everyone else can scream till they're Blu- in the face but it wouldn't do them a single bit of good. M$' market share with their OS gives them the first, final and only vote.

When the communities say I told you so, I wanna see Bill Gates cry.
You won't, but I do recommend looking out for flying chairs.

Yes, but thankfully you now have 40 subscriptions of Vibe to read.

Wouldn't you then just have a lot of really big INTRA-nets instead of an INTER-net? Everything outside your INTRA-net has a potential to be lost.
Anyone have the number for a team of the world's best deep core oil drillers?
