That's a pretty poor comparison. And actually, that's not always true. There was a story earlier in the week where some 60 or 70-something grandma fought off a guy who tried to steal her purse. But back to the topic, it's relatively easy enough to set up wireless security. Linksys routers even come with a CD and specific instructions to "RUN THIS CD BEFORE YOU HOOK UP YOUR ROUTER" and it walks them through setting up wireless security. Or, if you really don't know what you are doing, you get Geek Squad or some other service or a friend or family member to do it for you. So there really is no excuse for not protecting your wireless connection, unless you are too stupid or don't care, in which case I go back to my original point.
just wait and try again later. I had the same thing happen to me. I waited a day and was able to download it just fine yesterday from the link I was sent in email.
I'm so sick of people assuming Blu-Ray = Sony. Look it up people, Sony is one of 9 founding companies, one of 18 companies on the Board of Directors and one of over 250 companies total in the Blu-Ray Association. Sony was just the most visible member of Blu-Ray since they have the most to gain or lose, so they have been pushing it the hardest. If you don't like Sony, then get a Samsung, or LG or Pioneer or some other Blu-Ray player. I'm not a big fan of Sony either, but I'm tired of people saying "I hate Blu-Ray cuz I hate Sony" or "I'm pissed that Sony won" Yes, Sony won, but so did 250 other companies and us consumers in general now that we'll have one format. sheesh, you anti-Sony guys are almost as bad as Apple fanboys!
i also find it amusing that Timer-Warner touts this "advanced fiber network" but our speeds are still so pitifully slow compared to other countries. Hopefully when they turn of analog TV that will free up some bandwith to be able to raise the speeds. Either that, or TWC and the other cable companies need to spend all that money they gouge from us (since they have no real competition) and actually UPGRADED their networks to allow more bandwith.
sucks that Verizon has no service in San Diego county. I live here and I'm pissed that the closest Fios gets to us is Temecula. i'm stuck with Time Warner, which isn't bad, but I want Fiber!!
Actually, this is not correct. There are only 3 types of nuclear powered ships currently active in the navy: Aircraft Carriers (CVN) and submarines (SSN and SSBN). There used to be nuclear guided missile Cruisers (CGN class) as well, but there were never actually any destroyers that were nuclear powered. All ships that used Nuclear Power have an "N" at the end of the class designation (hence DDG is non-nuclear powered). The reactors designated as "Destroyer" were all actually put into Cruiser type ships, and the last nuclear cruiser was decommissioned in the late 1990s. I think the South Carolina (CGN-37) was one of the last ones, I remember we had a bunch of the nukes from there that still had a bunch of sea time left come to the carrier I was stationed on (USS Theodore Roosevelt)
the Destroyer reactor (D2G) was a 150 MW design, but again, this reactor was put into the CGN class
I find it funny that people make fun of MMO gamers for paying the monthly fee. yes I pay about $15/month to play WoW.....that's about.50 a day. Plus I tend to not buy other games since I know that I probably won't even play them, so in the end I've actually saved money by Playing wow. Paying $15/month to play a game instead of paying at least $50 for a new game about every month.
the only problem i have with that is for people living with roommates. Take my situation for example: I don't do any downloading of music and movies anymore. i don't even have a p2p client installed on my machine anymore. All i use my connection for is for online gaming and downloading legal files (patches, game demos, stuff from itunes, etc...) My 2 roommates, however, are bit-torrent freaks and are always hogging the bandwidth. i can tell when they both get heavy with their downloading cuz the pings in my online games go to shit. with Time Warner's tier thing, our household would get charged more, even though not everyone is doing heavy downloading. I guess if TWC did this to our area, I would just have to make my roommates pay the extra fee.

if someone is dumb enough to not have their wireless protected, then they deserve to have their connection leeched.
your comment is utterly retarded. Google didn't request or take the information, it was GIVEN to them by the city.

nevermind, i read the article again and noticed the "over a period of 4 hrs"
perhaps I missed it in the article, but does it say how long it lasts before you have to lift the weights again?
you may say it, and I will second it. What the fuck?!?!?
I should sue....I already patented the idea that the you could overturn the current patent law.
the caek is a lie

All the Nuclear powered ships are steam turbine driven as well. the Reactor just provides the heat to make the steam instead of a boiler.

ummm, his name is Aviv Raff, not Raff Firefox.......
I'd be willing to bet 99% of the regular slashdotters are fully aware what MST3K stands for. If you don't, I think we need to revoke your Geek card!
