The Russian music industry isn't licensed at all--they don't pay anything to anyone for it, according to their law they can do what they want. In other words, I'm not going to pay scammers for what I can get free with the same legality. Which of course I do.
I can get it off eMule for free, with the same legality. I.e. none, shit all. This is NOT legal except within russia and other countries without restrictive copyright laws. "Authorized by the Russian music industry" = "Not authorized"
Tachyons were byproducts of a broken theory--they were predicted by early forms of quantum gravity. Refinements to those theories eliminated them (as a particle with imaginary mass is simply preposterous), but Star Trek still enjoys using them...
"Believe it or not, you can write good Fortran, as well as bad Fortran."
Is this new? Can't any programming language be written in a "good" or "bad" fashion?
Games are only better if the student isn't motivated. If a game motivates a student, so much the better. But if the student already has motivation, a book would be better any day... a game just adds unneeded overhead.
You looking for an MMORTS? Already exists, and is quite fun, very strategic, and very tactical. And free (paying gives benefits but you can kick ass without paying easily). See Shattered Galaxy.
Oh, and if you want a game where PvP isn't an instant death and killing someone actually means something (they don't just respawn with an XP debt), see EVE Online.
He states that no science fiction novel should ever have faster-than-light travel.
In other words, this won't be an MMORPG, but a screensaver. You'll create a character, set course to Alpha Centauri, and come back 4 years later to fight your first NPC. Four years later, you'll arrive back at Earth to sell your loot. Now THATS what I call a TIME SINK!
Depends on the CPU. The vast majority of Bartons and low-end P4Cs can do 40-50% just fine, let alone 24%. My 2.4 can run 3.6 pretty easily. And a 1.8Ghz Barton can often hit 2.6Ghz.
Even Pons admitted it. A few months into cold fusion's hayday in the 1989s, a scientist asked them to use regular water instead of heavy water, as a control. They did--and got the *exact same results*. Hydrogen will NOT fuse with hydrogen except under extreme circumstances--deuterium might. Of course Pons covered it up and cold fusion went from foolishness to fraud.
The plot holes aren't that bad... the only even minor plot I've seen in recent episodes (although I may have missed some) is in the black hole episode, in which the science was fine (they mainly stick to stuff we don't know to avoid violating laws of physics), but they missed something pretty big: when a neutron star collapses into a black hole, it doesn't have any more gravitational force than a neutron star or even a normal star of the same mass unless you are very near it. In other words, the planet with the stargate would have to be about 100km from the neutron star for the episode to have worked... which obviously wouldn't work:).
What do you mean? Stargate, IMO, is a lot better than even TNG and Voyager. It fixes a lot of problems that those series had, like the "we're about to die, but we can fix it by reversing the polarity of 'x'" problem. I especially like the fact that humans *aren't* blessed with ultrauberawesome technology.
Because when its hot, it uses less energy to do the electrolysis. RTFA. Currently it takes 3-4 times the energy to do the electrolysis than you get out by putting the hydrogen and oxygen back together.
To start with, for you apple-crazed mods, this isn't a troll.
iPods are nice. Now when I bought my mp3 player a year ago, I got a 20GB Lyra for $180. Since the cheapest iPod was $400, it was definitely worth it. Plus the Lyra didn't have the battery problems the first-gen iPods did, and it had considerably longer battery life.
Well now iPods are lots cheaper. And they have somewhat better battery life, no dying batteries, and hold more. But if I wanted a new mp3 player today, I still wouldn't get an iPod. Because for the price of an iPod, I can get:
1. A Creative Zen Touch 20GB, has a touch scroll similar to the iPod's and has 60-80% more battery life. Plus I save $90. And it looks cool like the iPod.
2. A video player--larger than the Zen or the iPod, but plays both music, video, and all that.
Now if the iPod, at $300, had number two in there... lets just say it might find its way into my budget:). Basically, Apple needs to solve this "there are better mp3 players for less" problem. They're not going to cut prices (see the fact that their computers cost twice that of an equivalent PC--I simply can't afford a decent G5), so they might as well make what they're already selling better.
This sounds very similar to what happened to the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem--hopefully just like with FLT they'll be able to find a way around the problem.

But who smart enough to use Windows 2000 would want any Micro$oft toolbar? ;)
But isn't anyone intelligent enough to know that this toolbar exists going to have SP2 anyways?
Why they have a popup blocker built into the toolbar? Isn't Internet Exploder supposed to have one already?

Strange, he stated many times that Helium was detected--at the normal levels it would be detected in ordinary heavy water.
Source: Voodoo Science (book). Look it up, it probably has the primary source listed in the back for this occurance.

You can also do this on the PC--DaemonTools is a free CD mounter and it *can* circumvent SecureROM.
Hopefully this may be changing--in my area we can now get Verizon FIOS, which is 15MB/2MB (megabit) for just 50 USD a month...

Mod parent REDUNDANT? This was the first post of its type in the thread, albeit perhaps not the last--how in hell can it be redundant?

MOD PARENT UP! This guy knows his science fiction :P
