Man, I forgot about cloning...
Get a base image perfected with all your tools installed,
Clone it as a linked clone.
voila, infinite copies, all of which can run at the same time.
Co-worker needs a copy of your image? No problemo, make a full clone and NewSID it (sysinternals.com)
VMware is probably one of the most useful QA products out there. Nice to see them open it up for 3rd party vendors to play with.
Anyone else use VMware 5? Gotta love the new snapshotting features.
I attend a LAN party spanning Thursday night, Friday, Saturday, Sunday every summer. I have yet to die from it.
How many "world record" hockey, and volleyball games have been held over the past couple years? 100+ hours and no deaths there.
Same. I'm already hitting 900Kbytes/sec and increasing. ETA is dropping fast.
I'd say your ISP is blocking standard BT ports. You can try using a client that allows your to switch ports (anything over 40000 should be okay).
I think you've hit the nail on the head. This is exactly how we come up with our requirement specs for our {software}.
Rather than test with multiple machines, I use my 866MHz desktop system, which then gets listed in the user's manual as the 'requirements'.
Of course, when it comes to throughput and performance, we test on the quad 3GHz Xeon system;)
Brilliant. If I had mod points, they would be for you. I could never put into works my discomfort over the whole "video games cause violence" issue.
On the surface, I could rationalize... They are just games, The average age of players is 26 (or 28 depending on what you read).
Deep down, I suspected video games and violent movies do cause increased amounts of violence. I know that I personally drive more aggressivly after playing Need for Speed.
Heh, I remeber when GTA (the original) came out, I was driving to the mall after playing for a while and I almost jumped out of my car to carjack a cop car...
Luckily I'm old enough to know better and control my game induced impulses. Perhaps the 'Mature' rating needs to be stronger (photo I.D. maybe?) to protect those too young to know better.
Maybe if buying 'Blood Fist Fight of Painful Death' required a picture I.D. and 21+ years on this planet, parents will think twice before buying it for their pre-teens:-/
I've been using the sticky notes (internal L2 cache) -> note pad (physical RAM) -> filing cabinet in another building (hard drive) analogy. But I like yours much better.
When I worked at a large paper printing company, we had a plating room where we would create the digital printing plates (similar to a huge, flat laser printer, except it takes aluminium plates with a photo-sensitive layer). The unit was used to expose 42" plates with the image for the printing process.
That room was kept downright FROSTY. More than 5 minutes in there made me uncomfortable. It was nice to pop in there in the summer when the production floor would hit upwards of 40 C.
We tried keeping it warmer, but we starting running into problems with the plate writer locking up.
One of the reasons they reduced the size of L1 cache is because it takes up a huge amount of physical die size. If you trying to reduce the number of bad chips in a batch, the easiest way is to reduce the size of the chip itself.
get up to work a Thrsday night shift, get off from work Friday morning, grab my rag and head over to the LAN site... play until Sunday afternoon.
My wife had to drive me home because I was in terrible shape. I fell asleep around 7pm Sunday with my eyes open.
That amount of sleep deprivation does really weird things to your senses too... I remeber hearing and seeing things that friends said were never there:)
Maybe it was the amount of alcohol I consumed that weekend;)
Whoa.

I don't get it. Unless you're talking about the pinball wizard? Bah I'll shut up before I look like an idiot. ... too late isn't it?

wow, some people really can't wait. 260 bucks for a couple days early release? Probably not when you factor in shipping time/auction closure/ et all.
Wasn't Daikatana make by the founder of ID (who also left to start a new company...
I find Slurpees(Squishees? whatever) and donuts work best. I somehow manage to get a PC upgrade every cycle... my co-workers are mystified ;)

Ug, here's a link for those interested.
Ha! I remeber a tech tale where the guy used WD-40 to create a Slick Connection with his router.
On a side note: what happens to an IBM 'M' if you remove the springs completely ?

Someone mod this guy up.
Nope, sorry...
The landing spot is just too darn small...

Moderators... mod the parent up... it was funny, not offtopic.
Sheesh
Someone let the monkeys loose with the mod points again.

More chips that pass = more profit
It all boils down to money in the end.
...if the DEA could use this kind of technology to track all of those 1 a.m. drug running boats from South America.
:)
Good place for funding at least
I doubt it, probably just a heavy gamer.
:)
