    Sometimes I wish that the people , especially from slashdot,
    would be the ones to vote into place the technologies used by the governments to power
    the country, or fuel the cars etc....

    Is it just me or does it seem that the countries leaders don't know slashdot exists...
    let alone any other form of power source....!

    If France is already doing this, why cant anyone else jump on this band wagon???

    I agree, and also believe that any true malware writer will also incorporate
    p2p torrent download technology so that a file of 1.4 gb. can be shared by all
    child nodes within a network if so chose to ...and the download time would be minimal.

    Therefor, a botnet with 1000 pcs...could easily host a few hundred copies...

    I agree that NY is full of sh*t .... I believe that this is the same state that applied a tax law for a vehicle that consumed too much gas, the turned around and applied a tax for a vehicle that took not enough gas, and it is only a matter of time before they come up with a tax for a vehicle sitting in the driveway too long....

    Tax Auditor: "I see you work from home, but you own a car ..."
    Person: "Yes...i don't have to drive to work, as I work from home."

    This story is pointless, I am a lawyer, which whom I have a wealthy client of mine that is willing to pay me to travel to meet him in his defense, not only do I get to travel, BUT I GET PAID TO DO IT.
    I am going to make sure he thinks nothing but paranoid thoughts, feeding more and more until he cracks and gives me that plane ticket.

    The cool thing is even with keyloggers, and screen captures there is still stenanography.
    you get a comp that is brand new, install a software for steno, update the image, then encrypt it, then logon to the net send it by email, on his end he buys a brand spanking enw comp....unencrypts the image, then decrypts the steno...and wow, no pgp to tip off the NSA.

    But that would be the cheap way of doing it.

    I hate to say this but being a math nerd myself, i would say most probably guitar hero, or some form of highly involved community game on the lan unreal tournament etc....that is what most geeks would rather do on their own, with their friends, going to a party to mingle with friends AND maybe those they don't like, you are back in high school...think along the lines of pictionnary etc...CSI board game is ok too, seeing as they use a bit of smarts, but not enough to think they are working.

    and found 1,990,000 pages with this same script attack...as for how many servers this represents,
    I don't know.

    I agree with you 100% ...in fact the only way for the world to see the TRUE
    meaning of what happens behind a government, is to have a global change or disaster, on such a massive scale, that it would take ALL nations to fight it, or get through it.

    IE- alien invasion, asteroid hitting earth...something so massive, that everyone would have
    to work together to find a solution, then the effects of mass communication would open up many people's eyes to all the other culture abroad.

    I still am amazed at how much beautiful culture is in Egypt, where the pyramids are,
    yet find it hard to find anything at home. I am sure someone from a different country would
    see more then I do about my own country, and say It was beautiful...

    Sounds very similar to that thing that happened in the bible, where someone had to build an arc....
    seems like this could give us better insight into timelines for humans, as the actual AWARENESS
    of time relative to ours from the past might be hard for the people who wrote the bible to
    guess. I imagine we are trying to reference the bible with other works from those eras, but,
    I have yet to hear about someone discovering the real Arc used by Noah, and even then it would have to be proven that it was that perticular one...so I am right now almost ready to accept the stoy of Noah dates back to this age... and that some of the carbon dating done is faulty.

    I guess I could throw out my copies of windows and say I don't have it anymore...

    The best would be to have an ISP filter that blocks anyone using an unpatched computer, this would force them to figure out why they would want to run without patching, and make the necessary arrangements for bringing their pcs up to speed

    Does anyone know if the remaining available copies of windows xp you can buy, will come with the sp3 cd with it, to avoid downloading from the net or need to download and be vulnerable to malware seeing as 2 minutes into patches, you have viruses...

    installing active x?
    maybe not on vista, but i don't know vista well enough to say anything about it.
    I heard vista was made to stop your browser from doing this, however firefox
    installed side by side IE opens up yet another vulnerability that I think might work on vista...
    if my memory serves correctly.

    We all know computers can't do tru random operations, but also, the fact that something is telling the cop to walk left instead of right, and keep a log of it means that they can still make it possible to follow. Depending on how far each personel is from point of entry, you wait until they are at x distance (giving you enough time to do y criminal activity)....if you need 50 seconds and you waited awhile until you noticed 2 cops both left to patrol in either direction and have been walking for more then 35 seconds in those directions, it is safe to say that you now have enough time. .... and then you have the villain factor....if you know someone like that guy from die hard 4 who could hack into that system, he could be the one telling the cops where to go, making it look random...
