I had a major argument with a family member in the past over dogs (of which I own 2), and their intelligence. His point of view was more like, because we are more intelligent we have more of a right to live then they do. I told him, if intelligence is your way of weening out the weak and keeping the strong, then I would have to say give me your wallet, cause I am stronger then you , and can hurt you....and you are too weak to defend against me.
Also, I told him that the amount of times I was surprised by their curiosity on certain things and / or their intelligence when they really want something... my older dog, is very quick, she knows when she barks, the smaller male, tends to want to bark with her, whether to help her or to just enjoy a good bark, which would make him drop what ever bone he had in his mouth, she then would proceed towards the door, giving him the impression their might be someone at the door, and half way through would stop, back step and go for his bone, and scoop it up and lie down to enjoy the new found chew toy.
I have many similar stories too many to mention, but trust me, the level of intelligence is growing, whether it is through our interaction or not, there is something that slowly is driving the average intelligence in dogs. They recognize words, feelings, movements...even songs.
I replace my OS from an image of my install back with all my softwares, so that an image can be reused in under 20 minutes, and you are good to go, once a month even is good, with or without traces of spyware or trojans etc... just to be safe. Also I keep all files personal off the c drive.
I also have a copy of an image for a client of mine that regularly gets viruses, he pays me for the reinstall each time, although it takes me 20min. I charge him my min. 1 hour.

You bring forth many good points, however being able to conceive new ideas on a daily basis, I tend to gravitate towards that futurology religion, more so then any other religion we have yet today. I am not sure of all the complex ideas behind it, but to say that everything has a scientific explanation, and what does not today, will by tomorrows technology seems fair.

I see this as a combination of a small computer the size of a small chip, full with interaction based on a keyboard microchip also inside your head, and have a certain ear piece interconnected, and be able to visualize with a cornea implant that lets you see (semi transparent screen)...you can chat to someone else using the net and msn, and using this computer that sits so small in the base of your skull without causing problems...

I think this mane has an advanced way of thinking about things, and as for living forever, if we can create a sort of complex pattern matcher inside this super computer that matches someone's firing of brain synapses, a transfer of sorts in the future would be the next step towards transferring consciousness into a computer as a receptacle to hold our existence.
This would be considered living for ever if you continuously found a new receptacle each time!

It could just be used once in awhile, or as much as is needed, and it would crush all the garbage into small squares which could then be brought back on smaller boats to the coast and then dropped inside one of the hawaiian volcanos... I know it might be a bit costly, but it would be much quicker solution to a big problem getting bigger by the minute.
As for air dropping the garbage into a volcano, a military helicopter couild be used, the ones without a bottom, with room to pick up the square and drop it in...that is the way I see it done the quickest and cheapest solution.
It is not the place of the teacher to figure out what the future of a student should be, and I have been in this case scenario myself, having gone to a degree mill college, and gotten my degree....I happened to fall on 1 teacher that was going to affect my turn out, I quickly asked to be transferred out of his class, not only alienating myself from the rest of the students (that are like packs) but also making a name for myself as a whiner, but I knew his style teaching would be a confrontational point for me, and I just could not bear to see my hard work be so quickly erased by attitude from one teacher biased or not.
Sometimes it is also the student's role to interact with their education from a different point of view then just bystander, and not accept anything because that is what you think things are, but question and ask, why not be able to do differently, luckily for me it worked out in the end.
I would sue if this case was mine, purely that you are allowed no discrimination when going for a job interview, and you are not allowed to even remotely discuss the student's grades when someone asks you for a reference, you either give one, or you do not. All you can say when a reference is asked, is if you know that person/student, and if they were able to complete the course. This is the law (here anyways)....she over stepped her boundaries...she should be punished.
As for the student, she did not help herself really, I was in my situation, smart enough to know that a reference is everything to gaining a job, and was able to acquire one, with great comments from one of my favorite teachers, hence the knowing I would get a good review.
I am certain that the degree mills, need everyone to get a job, to help bring their average up...so to speak, as for this student... she could easily help herself by getting some work on the side, from family or friends needing a website developed, and then using THEM as reference instead, website development being 1 week for a small one...if you know what you are doing. If you don't you can easily buy a template or 2 for web development and use them, makes life easier.
