Age of consent laws are there to say.. "until you are this age, you are not mature enough to decide if you can have sex or not"
it is the Age of COnsent laws that define the difference between Rape and statutary Rape. with the latter being where the young person 'consents' but is deemed to not be able to make that choice.
it is analogous to driving and achohol laws.. at age X are allowed to buy alchohol or drive a car on public roads.. but at age (X - 1day) you are not.
an arbitrary age designation created by the people for the good of the people as a whole.
as far as i understand there is no reason why a country could not put the age of conset at say 5 years.. other then they would be looked down upon/harassed/boycotted etc by other countries. (just like child labour laws)
i thought the general charging scheme of the Internet was that it was the downloader that paid.. always.
ie.. it shouldnt cost me any money to have content available for download.. it is the people who download my content that pay for that data...
i understand that poeple pay 'extra' to have a large bandwidth available for uploading, just as you pay more for a faster connection from your ISP. but i've cant see why you should be payaing for data you 'upload' when the end-user pays for it..
it was in season 5... possibly "One More Day's Light" i'd have to dig out the discs to be sure..
the key word there is _voluntary_..

Killer NIC anyone?
i cant see how they would have missed it..
I mean its only slightly less well known then 'never start a land war in asia'
I beleive the technical term is Atari-itis as the syndrome was first identified with the Atari 2600 machine
:D
it was most common after an afternoon playing summer games/decathlon

i think you're correct.. it didnt sound rigth when i typed it..
its the theme tune to the tv show M*A*S*H anyway
http://www.bestcareanywhere.net/songs.htm#theme says
"Suicide is Painless" (MASH theme song) (music by J. Mandel; lyrics by M. Altman)
Ive heard of a number of different explainations for this actually
:. therefore you are commiting murder/attempted murder.
1. you are a human (i suppose that is debatable), you are killing/attempting to kill a human
2. it was inspired by religous reasons.
3. they are worried about you hurting others in the process.
so there are 3 possibly explanations..
and remember like the song says "suicide is silent".. (except for maybe guns)

Perhaps they could do a new CELL based Devleoper machine, with multi-mointor graphics and the like..
To me this seems to be more a test of the linux implementation of teh video card drivers.. and NOT the wine system itself.
i think a wider suite of tests would be required.. and not just the preformance/gaming orinted stuff.
