What's this thong you talk about called TV? I've heard of such a think yet have not experienced it... Can I download it? AH yes, I think I remember hearing about something once called iTv. That's Mac for you, always on the bleeding edge...
Well considering that I ralrely if ever have to do anything with our Mac Servers it, holds true. Note I didn't say the MS Servers were a lot of work, just more than the rest. I have no problem with the maintenance, there is just more than an OSX Server. I can't remember the last time I had to defrag an OSX Server yet alone clean up the AV quarantine...
Yeah I'm an apple fanboy and I make a pretty good living supporting them (server and client). But let's get real here, until there are more than 6 games available for a Mac it isn't going to "solve" anything in the game world.
I know Doom3 is comming out almost concurently on PC/Mac and Linux, but that's the exeptiond and FAR from the rule. Don't expect it to get much better either. A company with a 3-5 % market share in what is arguably a shrinking market isn't going to get a hell of a lot of attention.
That is why to this day I maintain a high end PC with all the gaming bells and whistles. I like gamong and consoles don't hold a candle to PC games. You can't blame the developers for not putiing out more Mac games can you? I don't.
I use my Mac and FC2 for almost everything, but my M$ PC is there for games and most likely will be for a long time. Oh yeah and I also have to support M$ Server at work.... 1/3 of our servers 2/3's of the work.
Hmm, in Firefox on XP I seem to remember a little red X in the top right hand corner. I clicked it and voila! the site went away. I thought hmmm, maybe in other browsers? So I tried it in Safari on my Mac and no little red X but I had a little red dot on the top left. A little command+W and the site was gone. Perplexed I booted into FC2 and tried Mozill and once again was presented with an X to close the window thus dismissing the site. So, I'm a little perplexed as to what how you arrived at your little problem?
So far the site has stood up to being/.'d quite well. Of course it is Sunday morning...
Ok, I can undrstand the policy on an iPod or any other mass storage device for that matter. Leave it at the front desk, it wont kill you. However if someone was really hell bent on stealing some files it wouldn't be too hard to conceal a small usb storage device from a casual search or pat down.
The only real way to secure the data is on a server in a locked room and give the users nothing more than a keyboard mouse and monitor. Ok, if you're feeling generous I guess they can have a cdrom.
Why not try Mac? It's as east to use (or easier) than Windows yet has all the *NIX features you could shake a stick at. I use and suport all 3 OS'S and OS X is the winner hands down. I'l admit though I use Fedora as my home machine most of the time.
No matter how you feel about Michael Moore one thing is certain. He's very good at what he does. I have yet to see the movie, but when I do I'll be going in
with open mind well aware that it's going to lean to the left(a lot). You don't listen to Rush Limbaugh expecting to hear him calling for a cut back in military spending. Face it both the extreme left and right are going to "bend" things to fit their point of view. Last I saw though Rush hasn't produced a film worthy of winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes. When he does, I'll go see it.
Ok, the fact that thier video requires Real Player to view speaks volumes to my geekness. Anyone worth their salt wouldn't instal that piece of spyware to save their favourite auntie! Sorry but that doesn't instal a lot of faith in me. At least use quick time as ir's "Apple" (I am a Mac user BTW) and very trendy at present. At the very least that goes along with the Starbucks look they managed to patent for banking. I think I'll stick with my credit union thank you very much. I really can't remember the last time I had to
go into a bank anyway.
The only one who profits from this is Law Suits are us. Just like a real divorce! Who gets the Barbie Cottage in the Hamptons?
The only thing I got to keep in my divorce were the computers and the dreamcast...
Well it's great to see that you speak for all of us here at/. Thinking for myself was really starting to warp my fragile little mind.
Stating that you are not a Troll doesn't make you any less of one. And the flame bait is a nice added touch.
Speaking as someone who uses Apple every day at work in an IT environment I welcome the Apple stories here. As pointed out earlier OS X is UNIX and if you hadn't noticed a lot of *NIX users frequent this place. So what's the big surprise that a lot of Mac stories show up?
If a story shows up on a subject I don't care for, you know what? I don't read it and get on with my life. Maybe you should invest in a mouse with a scroll wheel? I did and I'm on a Mac!
I think Donald Trump should get involved and build one of his towers around it. Hell they could even develop a reality TV show around it, thus generating more revenue! All I can say is if that happens they better also work on those bags the pizza delivery guys use. Even though I may live on the 942nd floor I still want my pizza in less than 30 minutes and it better be hot!
Ok, ok, put that way. There are only 3 stores that sell Apple products in the downtown core that I know of. Hey at least I got the number correct! The third store I was thinking of is Carbon Computing.
Let's see as far as I know there are only 3 Apple stores in downtown T.O. I doubt that a Linux store/ car wash on Dufferin has a Penquins chance in hell of making it (yes even those cute little guys you see on the beaches of Australia). There a ton of cheap computer stores in the College/Spadina area right downtown that'll be more than happy to sell you a cheap machine sans OS. Face it most Linux users know how to download the distro of they're flavour of Linux and in most cases it wont be Lindows. If your a M$ user and want to switch I'd recommend Mac. Me? I'll keep using Mac and Linux (SuSe), but I doubt I'll be visiting this store. Oh, and I don't own a car, not even a Windows one.
No word on a Mac version at all. Maybe it'll be released at the same time as Duke Nukem forever? Ironic as I believe it was originaly previewed at Macworld a few years ago.
When it's done! Oops sorry, that's an ID quote... Ummm I meant when the hax0rs are done with it. Joking aside I am really looking forward to CS2 and hopefully DoD2, both great mods.
Yeah and the Dell includes all the computer viruses and spyware you could want for free!
Apple should just go and add .rm compability to the Quick Time player. When Real complains, they could just say, "Hey, we used reverse engineering".

w00t! Thanks! Damn that's a fast dnload... I was trying to get it from fileplanet and was prepared to go do my laundry and *maybe* it's be done then.
I'd mod you up! Best laugh I've had all day. I hope it plays out that way... IBM really *IS* the wildcard here.

Limp Bizkit? I see they haven't implemented the "taste" or "talent" features yet?

I'd strongly recommend not bringing your PowerBook to the next riot/protest you attend.
