I use over the air (OTA) [haven't used cable TV since the mid 1980s/80s in PA] and can get most of the local stations (too many crappy ones too!) in Los Angeles (L.A.). I have two old HDTV tuner cards (compatible with Linux) in my Windows box. I don't have to worry about lame DRM and copy protections! I also have backup recorders like my VCR, DTV Pal DVR, etc. if needed. Everything else is online. I don't really like to watch streaming videos online due to slowness, caps, and hard to skip around (have to buffer, still prefer doing them locally [try to download if possible and can watch fullscreen videos on my 20" CRT TV from 1996 unlike streaming videos]).
I still have a VCR, DVD players to play both old DVDs and CDs, 20" CRT TV from 1996, HTPC with two old HDTV tuner cards from 2005, etc. I don't need to upgrade if they still work fine. Frak DRM too.
Ditto. I got tired of travelling from traffics, longer waits, etc. Bah. Where is my transporters/teleporters, flying cars, faster planes (Concords are gone), etc.?:(

People can spoof that. Weak security. So one could use your MAC address for free wifi APs. One could abuse it too. ;)
Complain to the webmaster/web site people. I wonder if there is a way to block it with Ad Block Plus.

Ditto. I prefer physical as well. Downloading takes too long especially on slow Internet connections and uses too much disk spaces these days.
Also, does it run on Linux?
