I assume this doesn't count PC exclusive shooters, right? Both Stalker games pulled off the FPS on the PC wonderfully (assuming you play them a month after release...).
I have to agree with you about the PC guy thing. It makes me wonder if they playtest at all anymore. Pay someone fifty bucks to play your PC release for an hour a month or two before release (he'd probably do it for free!!), and he will get the first five patches out of the way for you.
Yes and thank you.
I'm tired of hearing about the death of the PC (in gaming and beyond) while with each generation consoles become more and more like a standard PC. That is great in all, but why not just go for the actual PC and not be locked down by the manufacturer?
There are reasons a lot of us prefer texting over a call in most situations.
Calling represents a loss of time - you have to be somewhere away from others(if you are polite), wait as the phone rings, wait as you go over formalities, finally say what you needed to say, and then hang up. That is all a pain in the ass to us whippersnappers. Not to mention the annoyance of not getting an answer and having to wait to leave voicemail...(which is quite similar to a text, other than that it takes longer to convey a message and if something is missed it has to be replayed..)
Texting is more polite. Although I know many over thirtys who disagree, many younger people often do not consider it impolite to receive and send text messages in public or with company (within reason, it can't distract you completely). Beyond that, sending a text does not heavily interrupt the day of you or your contact, unlike a phone call.
Essentially, texting gets the same job done faster and with less hassle.
If it makes them feel any better...I have never bought or sold a used game. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of my purchases in the past year have been digital. That does come at the cost that I only buy good games from companies that treat me properly.
Beyond that..of course it effects prices. That being said, you can't do anything about it. Once purchased, the game is mine to sell. The best (for them, that is) thing to do is to abandon singleplayer and focus on subscription and account based games. I'd be devastated though. You already took away KOTOR 3, don't take away ME2 and whatever else you can think of.
I believe that the question of "what economic benefit is there to sex" was referring to personal sex - not paid sex and pornography. In addition, it said nothing about using sexual appeal for economic benefit..that effect is clear.
However, the original question, which I think can be clarified as "what economic benefit is there to private sex" still stands.
More importantly, the point that was being made with the question is more important. If someone codes as a hobby or in there free time, why would they give that up over an economic downturn? Generally people don't give up reading, television, music, and sports...so how is coding any different.
(This is all, of course, assuming that said coder has shelter, food, and power.)
I agree with your reasons there. Those are the general reasons I hear from most people I've talked to it about.
More importantly, I wanted to comment on your fifth point there. As a current student in one of the largest universities in this country, you can see a clear shift in perception over this subject. We have an excellent campus bus system that interconnects with the city bus system (for free even!). In addition, everything is laid out to easily allow anyone to walk to anywhere on campus. In addition, we have Zipcars and a recently added system that allows us to borrow bike's from the school for days at a time.
With all of these factors combined, most of us have little to no need for bringing a car to campus. Of course, this doesn't stop many of us thanks to the I-need-a-car attitude that is ingrained in our culture..but we are making progress.
My launch PS2 works too this day without a single error. Hell, I left the thing on with a game playing for three months in a row once. I would love to see a launch 360 do anything at that point in its lifespan.
As if they would pass savings on to the consumer.
At best they will just stuff their pockets with any profit gained from decreased theft, and there will be a hack on the internet within a week. Same old, same old.
Oh yea, Microsoft wouldn't do anything anti-competitive. It was just a mistake!
That explains why they need to have their laid off workers pay their severance back!

It is a new version, they are working on it.

Yes..how dare they charge you to..you know..use their game! Horrific!
Seriously, I'm an EVE player myself and CCP pisses me off every other day...but honestly, this is unreasonable.

Do you realize that nine out of ten people who purchase coffee at McDonald's complains about it being too cold?
