Well, lets take the total amount of people who know how to work with OS/2, and then take the total amount of people who know how to work with Windows, then factor in which has a bigger surplus of people to pull from for jobs in repairing these.

Also, DieBold, who supplies a lot of atms to a lot of financial institutions, has gone Windows Based (XP on a lot of models no doubt.). I suspect their move to Windows systems is based on the above fact that there are way more people out there who can fix a windows PC (basically all an ATM is, a PC w/ a Cash Cassettes and a NIC). Then people with experience in OS/2.

I could have understood this if an Economics Professor or even an Industry Analyst replied to my ponderings, but where in a thread attached to a subject of 'Intel's Dual-core strategy, 75% by end 2006' does a English Guru, or at least someone with Mad Spell Checking skills find the room to correct someone's English?

Well... For one, BofA is not a Credit Card/Plastic Vendor. Master Card, Visa, Discover are CC Providers. BofA just has bin's with those providers/vendors so they can offer their cards to their Banking Customers. Also, depending on what restrictions your talking about, most banks do offer a choice of Visa or Master Card aside from whatever they choose to use with your Debit Card.

But regardless, they lost 1.2 million records of Government Employee information. That means Payroll, ACH info, Transactions, Loan details, etc. Even if it was civilian information, I'd still be looking for new options in where I stash my money, at this point, putting in a sock drawer might be safer. =)

Funny, I was unaware that Gmail scans attachments and simply denies if it's an executable. I say Funny because I have a couple of recent (as in over the weekend) files I zipped and sent from my gmail account to work account, neither were stopped, blocked, or altered. And I did not get all fancy about it either, I just zipped up all the files, attached, addressed and sent.

Also, I'm missing something else, why are you guys getting all crazy with encrypting and rar'ing executable files when most systems will ignore an attachment if you rename it to a registered extention like '.TXT' or '.RTF', honestly, renaming it back could be faster than decrypting and/or uncompressing it on the other end, unless of course your trying to compress the attachments due the desitination account has attachment size limits.

But I'm going to look at it like this, They Don't Care. No need to burn yourself out thinking on this one. That project has been 'Scrapped', so what's the point in spending 2-5 days trying to revive the system just to only have it remain in service for another 32 days?
