    A team in the Netherlands built an application that listens to contact centre conversations, picks out relevant keywords and automatically prompts the call centre agent with possible answers.

    Does this app take the form of a paper clip? Because that would be a great idea!

    Look, idiots, the legislation is supposed to speed up the transition. I know numbers like 2007 and 2009 are very confusing, but if you RTFA you'll understand.

    Current law only requires broadcasters to give up their current airwaves by 2007, or when 85 percent of the nation can receive the new digital signals, whichever comes later. Most predict that could take a decade or more.

    2009 is better, right?

    To me the important part of security is the bottom line: How often are you faced with a serious security problem right now?

    For whatever reason, open source software hasn't had the same problems as Microsoft for instance. Whether that's because of an oversight on the part of hackers/crackers is beside the point. The point is that based on results open source is more secure.

    Potential threats don't crash your servers.

    this is the reason why i dont use windows.. one minute after your installation is done, you already got lots of spyware.

    Not every computer related problem has Microsoft to blame. Though it is tempting to blame them...

    In the good ol' US of A it has been shown there are declining education levels and at least where I have worked declining productivity. We need to remain compeditive and that just ain't happening

    With outsourcing the education problem deepens because the of the dent in the taxes that support American schools.

    I've been watching too much Lou Dobbs. I think I'll go get a hobby.

    CEO's are the ones that benefit from the outsourcing. The cost savings aren't passed to the consumer. With that and job loss it doesn't make economic sense.

    They're laying off some consumers of their own brands and then not passing on any benefits to the rest of the consumers.

    That hurts! I was taken out of public school because of problems with peers. After being homeschooled I was much better at dealing with people. If only I hadn't been unschooled I'd be good at math and spelling, too.... :)

    I don't think being put into a position where your only social contacts are people of your age is healthy.

    Also, the social problems of some homeschoolers may be based more on the reason they were homeschooled to begin with than the homeschooling itself.

    Amen! It's nice to have control over your kid's schooling if at all possible. We've made our home a very cheap private school with one student.
