A team in the Netherlands built an application that listens to contact centre conversations, picks out relevant keywords and automatically prompts the call centre agent with possible answers.
Does this app take the form of a paper clip? Because that would be a great idea!
legislation to postpone mandatory transition from Analog TV broadcast to Digital is taking shape
Maybe I should have worded it better (clears throat):
Look, idiots, the legislation is supposed to speed up the transition. I know numbers like 2007 and 2009 are very confusing, but if you RTFA you'll understand.
Current law only requires broadcasters to give up their current airwaves by 2007, or when 85 percent of the nation can receive the new digital signals, whichever comes later. Most predict that could take a decade or more.
To me the important part of security is the bottom line: How often are you faced with a serious security problem right now?
For whatever reason, open source software hasn't had the same problems as Microsoft for instance. Whether that's because of an oversight on the part of hackers/crackers is beside the point. The point is that based on results open source is more secure.
" I don't think IBM completely sees the long-term road map for their Linux embracement, which is the reason why maybe they haven't stepped up to indemnify Linux in the way that HP has and some of the ways that Novell has and Red Hat has."
I guess you can't expect much respect from the company that is funding your biggest headache.
In the good ol' US of A it has been shown there are declining education levels and at least where I have worked declining productivity. We need to remain compeditive and that just ain't happening
With outsourcing the education problem deepens because the of the dent in the taxes that support American schools.
I've been watching too much Lou Dobbs. I think I'll go get a hobby.
CEO's are the ones that benefit from the outsourcing. The cost savings aren't passed to the consumer. With that and job loss it doesn't make economic sense.
They're laying off some consumers of their own brands and then not passing on any benefits to the rest of the consumers.
"I won it as a door prize at the Star Trek Convention, although I find their choice of prize highly illogical, as the average Trekker has no use for a medium-sized belt."
That hurts! I was taken out of public school because of problems with peers. After being homeschooled I was much better at dealing with people. If only I hadn't been unschooled I'd be good at math and spelling, too....:)
I don't think being put into a position where your only social contacts are people of your age is healthy.
Also, the social problems of some homeschoolers may be based more on the reason they were homeschooled to begin with than the homeschooling itself.

2009 is better, right?
Yep, my brother has had a -5k pay raise since he graduated this year. A negative pay increase still counts, right?

Potential threats don't crash your servers.
this is the reason why i dont use windows.. one minute after your installation is done, you already got lots of spyware.
Not every computer related problem has Microsoft to blame. Though it is tempting to blame them...

But.. internet newsgroups said so. That means it must be true. If you can't trust a newsgroup, who can you trust?
Except this time we can all make popeye jokes. That was lacking in the original.
All the nerds there will turn the women into lesbians. What's worse, they won't let you watch.
Perfect! You showed that you can be sensitive yet remain manly and condecending. Go you!
If you're a guy, you've almost figured out how to get a girl's heart. It's a bit too sensitive, though. We like to know our men are still men.
If you're a girl: You go on with your bad self! We'll teach these guys some manners one of these days.
"The moon belongs to America, and eagerly awaits the arrival of our astromen. Will you be among them?"
Are there any women even READING this stuff, let alone posting?
Yes we read this stuff. You should really mind your manners if you want a woman, love.
You might try pretending to be offended by the way women are being spoken of. We're suckers for that kind of stuff.
How does it compare to gentoo? The theme part is neat, but isn't gentoo better underneath?
"Finally, EarthLink SIPshare is NOT a supported EarthLink product. It is more than anything else a manifestation of an idea."
Trouble us not with your lame questions! We are busy making the internet flourish!
"I would wager, however, that a robotic dog would be quite a bit less effective in attracting ladies."
That's what I'm saying. Bring puppy to the park and you attract girls. Bring a robot and you attract nerds.
I'm not a troll! I'm just impulsive. I think my real live dog is much more entertaining than a robot. I mean, can you get a robot drunk? Can you?
Why not just buy a dog?

Amen! It's nice to have control over your kid's schooling if at all possible. We've made our home a very cheap private school with one student.
