    I actually have a half skeleton set at home ... full skull and vertebrae, half set of all other bones - medical students sell and resell sets such as these for anatomy study, most are sourced from india, one of the few countries that allow the export of human bones

    I'm a bigpond cable customer too ... and I'm sorry that you have had such a hard lot on cable ... not having found the user newsgroups, not having found the IRC servers, not having found whirlpool (wp.bpc-users.org) or the file email service (emailafile.cowsnet.com) ... live on cable must be pretty boring and dull for you ... just because you don't use the cable intranet doesn't mean that others don't

    While this is a great thing ... Telstra REFUSES to provide usage reports for more than 2 months past (which is often how long it takes for the bill to be mailed out to you) and even then CHARGE you for the usage report!!!

    Further to this in cases where Telstra has been shown to be in the wrong and has overcharged a user, they have in some cases refused point blank to make a refund or withdraw the charge ...

    per Mb billing is fine ... but lets keep it fair!!!

    What if the windows boxes were connected to the net through a masquerading firewall? -- would the need to licence be detected by the server or the client ... if it were the client then surely an abstract of removal such as a masquerading firewall would prevent this?

    this is a truly brilliant innovation ... it does open a very interesting line for future operating system/interface development, incorporating the 3D environment with process and file management alike; differing levels of control and access (above and beyond owner, group and all) through alternate tools (or weapons); coordination of system queues in a graphical and prehaps a more conceptual manner -- the possibilities and depth to which this could be taken is extraordinairy. The drawback in this I see being the hardware/processor intensive load which this method of interface may place on a system ... but then again, windows can do it :)

    creativity is suppose to be something which pushes the realms of currently accepted notions, not rehashs old concepts. This research simply shows that a computer can rehash old concepts within different scenarios, not that it can creatively produce something de novo. further to this comes the idea of appeal - creativity can be appealing or appauling ... dependent upon the audience ... ;)

    As the article notes ... this serial processing happens faster than the conscious mind can interpret and as such the difference between serial and parallel visual processing causes little difference in perception. It would be very interesting to see the processes involved in translating these serial images to memory and the crossover to parallel neural pathways.
