Go edit a "server" in the Web IIS module and tell me how that is acceptable.
Give me a damn configuration file (if there is one and I'm just not in the Tell Them Where Important Things Are club, please do let me know where they are!). Apache's good about that. No registry, no gigantic properties dialog - just some nice text files with "include" support.
It's extremely rare to even hear people speaking in the restrooms, where I worked. People on the phone generally got uncomfortable-stared out of the practice.
The problem starts when supervisors get irate with employees who took a minute too long in the bathroom. The base premise is OK - the problem is it inevitably deviates from "acceptable tracking" to ridiculous THE NUMBERS ARE GOD metric worship.
Not so here. This FAA certification means "accurate enough to stand in for some flight hours" - it's not just a random seal of Officialness that you think it is.
This makes it seem like Flightgear is only being used for the visuals. As I know nothing about Flightgear... is this true? I think it's cool either way then, but if it's true, it's a shame Flightgear didn't go the way X-Plane did for the simulation itself. (if you are unaware, only the airfoil's characteristics are "programmed" - the rest is supposed to be fully simulated. Other sims, like MS, they just plug in some numbers and define how the craft behaves, statically (as far as my understanding goes))
Oh god. Once I start on those I can't stop until I'm sick or there are no more to be found in the house.
Oh shut up, Imoen.
Nice :D
This is exactly why we have those exercises.
Thanks! This is good to know. I'm not going to switch my favorite, but it will make managing an IIS install that much nicer.
Also note that with in-air refueling modern aircraft carriers can launch a strike from a much greater distance, thereby reducing its vulnerability.
Where are the tankers supposed to come from? Those are a bit large to launch from a deck, let alone store.
... and all the attendant ASW ships, subs, and aircraft call those OPFOR subs "meat."
The only way to win against a distant railgun is going to be movement, and making it harder for the enemy to know exactly where you are.
They are not explosive - you have to actually hit what you are shooting for - and from that range requires you to be extremely precise.
I wasn't aware that we could launch tankers from carriers? Do we have mini-tankers that can be ramp-launched? That would be... cool.
Link fail. Wiki articles don't have trailing slashes, and if you include one, you get a "page can't be found" result.

Well, I don't actually get what he's saying, since he wanted to make some kind of snooty joke about it.
I fall on both the PHP and Apache sides of the fence though. Supreme distaste for .NET, and I wouldn't wish IIS on a child molesting animal abuser.
PHP isn't tied to Apache, you know...
Whenever I try to activate tethering on my Verizon Droid X2, they want me to call corporate and buy it for some $20/month.
I think you mean MPLS. There's a difference ;)
Yes. Next stupid question?
Maybe you just need to spend a bit more time initializing your pointer.
Please, consider it strongly. We implore you.
Usually?

More likely the immediate manager is a jackass. His/her superior said "we need X metrics" and the peon underneath overreacted.
Then everyone should stop choosing "bathroom" when they have to go, and just go. Fuck the queue, your bladder is more important.

You've revealed you don't know what you are talking about. It's the combination of software and hardware that is certified, not one or the other.
Die in a fire, little troll.

This playlist might give you some insight, if you want to sit through or skim it.
