Perhaps my views on this are tainted, as I've used NAT from the very beginning. But the very idea of seperate inbound and outbound traffic (and streams) seems natural to me. NAT just makes sense, I have no problems with it. You know, it has that "this is how it should be" feel to it.
You can get a good guitar for under $1000. You can get a good amp for under $1000. You can get one or more multi-effect boxes (Like a Digitech RP###, or a POD) for less than $500 each.
And your done.
That's $3000 MAXIMUM.
You don't NEED an authentic Les Paul. Sure, they are nice, but you also don't need to drive a Lamborghini when a cheap BMW will fit the bill.
It's only expensive if your not frugal. I've got everything I would need to play in a band, and I spent $500.
Smitfraud would do something like that. Start popping up errors like that and killing random (other) programs on pressing OK. Then, after a few days, start popping up actual browser popups selling tools to 'fix' windows.
When the user buys said 'fix,' someone runs of with their account information at worst, at best simply rips them off as they didn't need to 'fix' to begin with.

CutePDF. It shows as a printer. Print to it, and you get a file save dialog asking where to put the PDF.
As a bonus, it uses GPL Ghostscript as it's backend.
Can you get us an ISBN for that book? The non-ASCII character in there got mangled by slashdot (or my browser) and all search results based on my assumptions, are trash.
How about the first time you buy something, you are issued a private key to be used for said purchases. This key is linked to your purchases, through that to your credit card, and through that to your name, address, and phone number. Backups are now allowed, and indeed a utility download is given for just such a purpose. I don't know, onto an external drive via USB or something.
Any use of the key to unlock backed up downloads is logged/reported, so that Sony and friends can immediatly see stolen/distributed keys... but you still get to back up your stuff! The key doesn't have to be terribly long, but even if it is, it's better than what we have now.
Well, I should admit that I do not purchase data in these formats (excepting DVDs, simply because there is no other format - DVDs are MPEG, end of story. (with CSS sprinkled in usually)).
I'm also not authoring data in these formats, so at best I'm passively consuming with them, at worst I am invisible.
Nothing deserves the -gate suffix, the only reason it's called Watergate is because it happened at the damned "Watergate Hotel"!!! Stop sticking it where it doesn't belong!!!
Who marked it vandalism? It was probably a bot. If you check their user page there are usually explicit instructions for effectively telling the bot to fuck off.
Well, here's the rub of that: Doing what you said would be violating copyrights on the media, usually.
What I would be doing is only denying some company a small bit of change for the "privilege" of reading data in their language. (I can understand writing, but I will NOT pay to read it)
Also, I don't think there's something wrong with using xvid? What's wrong with that?
Well, the GUI tools work fine for me! But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to join an arbitrary WPA network from the command line! The tools just don't seem to work!
You are more than welcome to try working at near absolute zero... Warming/cooling safely TAKES TIME.
What's your netblock? I need some minions...
Your average NAT box doesn't allow traversal without explicitly forwarding ports anyway.
That's by virtue of what it is. How exactly should the NAT box know to direct port 22 to your server? It can't know unless you tell it so.

Which is fine, until the very first time said higher level calls you a newb, which seems inevitable.
It's fine if they can stay in character. They never do. There's never much RPG in MMORPG.

And that is what Intel is doing... when the nvram checksum is bad, it refuses to load the card assuming it is damaged.

Click on it again while it animates it's departure, and it just plain goes away.
So... why on earth would you post about it on the very medium subject to censorship? I mean, it's not like it won't get taken down in short order...
Off topic, but your sig is truncated and so makes little sense:
Show this to your friends and family that don't know what a r [mewshi.com]
Oh, wait... my idea would require actual work to be done! Nevermind then, I guess it's not an option...

It would be interesting to see how thing would work if we increased the range allowed from -1 to 5, to say -10 to 50.
Was that really necessary?
Rye.

What would stop me from posting things in someones name?

Yes, because taking nearly 30 years to build this was rushing.
Calm down, one of the magnets quenched. When that happens, it gets REALLY hot and things break. They knew it could happen.

(that, and it seems needlessly complicated)
