You failed to mention that Debian supports GNOME, KDE, and fluxbox. It's not that hard of a step for someone to go from the command line debian you are talking about, to a mostly point-and-click one.
Me, i grew up with DOS but latched right onto Win95 (being close to 12 at the time...). I used the command prompt a lot, whenever windows decided it didn't want me to do something. I still use the command interpreter in windows XP. When using Debian, i prefer the point and click interface, but i do like to be able to get "dirty" in a command line, and the whole PTY system kicks ass (i love it - too bad im an addicted gamer with tastes linux games are failing to meet)
They also have a different lock and release schedual. Instead of waiting a nice long while like Debian, they simply take a snapshot, bugfix if possible, and put it out as an official release, more often than Debian does.
That last sentence sucked, but im tired and couldn't figure out how to say what i wanted while not horribly breaking grammar.
What? more than Sarge? I couldn't find any packages i wanted in the Ubuntu mirrors. I ended up adding the Sarge mirrors and trying to use that. Then i wiped Ubuntu and put sarge on.
Now that im back on a gaming binge, Sarge is gone and WinXP is back (i dont want to pay for cedega). Needless to say i practice repartitioning a lot:)
You have a valid point that some may think it's tacky, and I happen to think the color theme is nasty (and i hate having pictures of people anywhere in my interface - actually, everything has to be somewhat abstract for me to like it. Think default KDE).
But there are better ways of expressing your opinion, that will not end up with you as a troll or flamebait, and people tend to listen/react better.
I was reading an article by someone - they took an old car, used a ROM programmer, and altered the car's program to remove the governer (along with some other tweaks).
Im not sure of the legality of reprogramming your car's ROM, but do check with your dealer about upgrades. Just like BIOS get flashes, some cars do too. (for example one model had chronic transmission breakdown - a ROM update resolved the issue somehow)
Why the hell do people post REPEATED off topic trolls anyways? like that baboons-face one. Do people really have that sad of a life? (or is it some kind of bot....)
Than explain why the big hospital in Central Los Angeles disables cell phones with reproaching message? ( i forget the name of the hospital ) - it did it to me when i was there last summer.
Except that a NetGear i was playing around with lets you set the entire MAC address.
Just like i can do to both my laptop's 10/100baseT interface and 802.11b/g interface. In windows. With default drivers. From HP (hp pavillion ze5730us). WTF?
Good point. But there are distros out there, that provided you don't have exotic or closed hardware, run 'as is'. As much as i did not like it, Fedora Core 2 ran fine without me doing anything.
"What are this 'ignorent'" does not seem to be correct grammar. 'ignorent' in that form is singular, yet you used 'are' as if it was plural.
If you are going to correct someone's post (does your dick feel longer now? Im not interested in a pissing contest), at least make sure you do it right.
I love how they "Echo him and see what we can find out".
I'm not sure what they meant, maybe ping (like that tells you much)? If i typed ECHO XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX i would get XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. By broken, i mean non-functional. Seems to work ATM.
Besides, i kinda like the old style. Reminds me of the interent before the dotcoms came and went.
Actually, its because I'm poor and only have 25 gigs of space.
And to the other comment - Yes, i did. Then i added the marrilot mirror.
This is why i believe "flamebait" moderation should be +/-0, rather than -1.
Why?
A very good point can be very controversial, or against the grain. Why should that be punished?
What, are the geeks trying to conform to something?
They will ship as many CD packages as you want, for no cost whatsoever. I have 10 of them in shipping now, to hand around.

Increase your text size one increment, then decrease it one down. Shortcut keys vary by browser
That should fix it.
Are you using Firefox/Mozilla by chance? It's a know n problem, i get it too occasionally.
no, add the /raw subdirectory to that and you have the raw, unadulterated data. Good luck interpreting those numbers, however.
Often the governers are in the car's computer.

Actually, this has real implications for the intelligence services.
Real, breathing, grown disguises.

Not sure if your trying to be funny or not, but i think he was talking about the simPC, not the toothbrush...
Wait a minute, won't that affect the measurements?
Ah. One of my friend's sisters has one of those. Can't do anything with them.
I am certain i could get around all that security crap, but it's been a long time (Since Color Classic II) since i have played with a mac.

One problem with your argument - even NetStumbler gets the AP's fingerprint and identifies the vendor.
Probably not. If they do move to pay service, make sure you post the articles as an AC on a public term...
FYI - i saw on Reuters.com the other day...
NYTimes is consicering requiring a pay subscription to access their web articles.
That means we cant post the contents of the article, and we can't access it without paying. I, for one, hope they don't go through with it.
Ever think that it may be His intention that we discover and use the tools he made for us?
If it isn't supposed to happen, He in his Infinite Wisdom would not allow it.
Don't worry about it so much.
