    You know - I'd always assumed that the unwritten reasoning there was that the color spectrum was just outside the range of human perception. Not that it was just so silly that everything about the band was black.

    As well, the SOI is a discrete thing, similar to the Hill Sphere. I suppose they are just different ways of looking at the same thing.

    I'd say if it was outside of our star's sphere of influence, then it would be in interstellar space (assuming it was not in another star's sphere of influence)

    (Slashdot: 2001 called and wants its lack of Unicode support back. Why can't I use use smart quotes or real em dashes in my replies?)

    While I support your idea, smart quotes need to die in fires. I also do not understand the need for different types of dashes - a dash is a dash!

    I think they have a hard time understanding what the Theory of Evolution really is. If they did, they'd suddenly find it's compatible with faith as-is.

    I could live without adblocking... but that last one there is a no-go. If that's not fixed, I am not willing.

    The great circle course form NK down into the western US has it's descent stage near Alaska. That's why they are placed there - not to defend Anchorage itself.
