Sure you did kid...
How about you stop making comments on Slashdot and go back to your Intro to Information Tech class.
" The last 3 places I have lived at had only 1 cable company "choice". "
That is because the local government in the last 3 places you lived had a franchise agreement with the cable provider.
That means the government IS the reason you have no choice, which pretty much makes your argument poop.
The reason is that Sony / Fujitsu / Toshiba / etc, don't owe anything to the United States, and they WILL go to other countries to find cheap labor.
If you had your choice of two laptops with equal hardware in them, but one was $500 more, which one would you buy? Unless of course you are looking at a Mac...
>With current known technology it would not be tough to collect the imagery and resell it just to tweak the NRO/NGIA
It would also not be too tough to have SPAWAR just blow the satellites out of the sky with another satellite if they feel like it. I'm pretty sure they already have a plan made up for the Russian satellites which could easily be adapted to whatever is needed. Legal? probably not, but the last time I checked it wasn't exactly legal to just take over other countries based on a bullshit exaggerated threat.
I agree,
If people don't like it, don't play.
People who use these bots screw up the economy of the game.
Prices in the auction house skyrocket and people who play the game normally can never make enough gold to compete.
Never mind the fact that you get a whole lot of high level characters running around that don't know what they are doing.
I agree
Why do people who use Linux feel the need to get other people to use Linux.
I use BSD instead of Linux, but that is because I like BSD, not because I dislike Windows.
When I see somebody who is happy with Linux / Windows / MAC / whatever, I don't try to push them into using BSD.
If a person wants to download an open source OS and try to get it working more power to them, if they don't who cares.
I've always wondered how people like DVD Jon figure out how to hack copy protection.
Minus the fact that he is probably a genius, where would you even start to learn something like that? I would say that he spends all his time breaking copy protection, but he seems to come out with hacks so fast that even if he spent all his time on a protection scheme it still wouldn't explain it.
I contract to the DOD, which means that some non-technical person 30 steps up decides if my company gets the contract based off of the worker's resume. Something on your resume that has Microsoft and Cisco in the title is easy for a contract officer to cross reference with the required duties of the contract.
By having 4 certs that I keep current I pull down 6 grand more than the person next to me who has a masters in comp sci. With much less investment from me to boot.
The only time I've seen(where I work) that a degree pays more than multiple high level certs, is when that degree is an MBA with an info tech option.
He was trying to say that the Double Quarter pounder returns 34% more results than the King Size Whopper. Even including the fact the McDonalds doesn't super size any more.
I'm not on your "team" and I don't use BSD in order to defeat the "proprietary OSs like M$ Vista and Apple OS X."
I use BSD because I like UNIX. I could care less what Microsoft and Apple are doing because I don't use either one of them.
I don't give a shit about the whole GPL vs BSD license crap either. Nothing against linux but I have better things to do with my time than sit around trying to get linux running as well as my bsd machines already are. If linux starts to offer me something that I can't do on bsd then I might switch, but not because linux is more popular and has a "better license".
Don't take me wrong. I am glad that linux was created and spawned a lot of great software that I can use on BSD. I just can't quantify moving from an OS that is working fine to a new OS, just because other people think that I should.
Trade war, or war within the bureaucracy of the US Govt itself? Remember that Cybersecurity Executive Order? Wonder who will be put in charge?
Reminds me of a little story about a power outage, maybe.
We can't tell you what we know, but trust us to be in charge...

You must be new around here... Almost everything we do is worthless.
My god, somebody who is intelligent on the interwebs!!!?
Are you lost?

I think it was more like 'hey check out my website'. It was packed full of very interesting information though and I'm glad I clicked on it.
or if we can stab ourselves in the balls with a steak knife

Yes because we all know that old Cisco routers are not vulnerable to anything.
Thou shalt not commit bikesheds
Eh, never heard that before. When I was living there they seemed to have twice as much Open Source stuff running then anywhere else.
I could go into almost any computer store and buy a pre-built computer running FreeBSD.

Well maybe not where you work :)

That is hilarious, and somewhat genius.
You would think that... But working on .mil mail servers all day, I see just as much spam coming in as I do on my non DOD mail servers.
hmmmm, doubt it.
I don't care what their ten golden rules are.

Damn you Morgan Spurlock!!!!!!!
I use Astalavista...
Oh wait you said Alta Vista. What the hell is that?
