I'm going to help as this is my area of... play. You need to get, somehow, a kernel that supports dvb. You could grab say the source for say 2.6.16 and build a kernel that supports dvb but it's a bit of a learning curve for a newbie. There has to be a dist kernel that does dvb, search for one. You will end up with a/dev/dvb directory if you have an approprite kernel.
The pcHDTV card needs this interface to the kernel. This is probably why it does not work. I fool with the satellites myself but DVB-S,T and C all use the same kernel interface.

You can't get your camera phone to hook up, prolly your camera phones uses propriatory software. Almost anything you can stick into a USB port will come up. Wether it runs standard software or something propriatory is another thing.
What's a DVD-I? I have no trouble dealing with DVDs and Linux packet writing works better than windose. You do know what packet writing is... right?
HPS and HFSplus work well, why can't you talk to your Mac, good question.

I will get an expensive one. Then it'll get a piece of cat5 stuffed into it and one of the two nics on my Nforce4 board. Linux will go on the PS3 and I'll have to get a HDTV, one of those 32" Samsung CRTs probably, to stuff the HDMI output into. So $1200 - $1400 for my home theater. Cool.
I get WiFi for whatever, Bluetooth... well yeah, and a card reader, oh yeah and a Blu-Ray for both machines.
This is gonna be fun, hell I might even get a few games. Free membership on Sony's game network....
I wonder if I can get Quake 4 through onto the TV.... that will be tough I fear.

Not that I care all that much, it's just to keep me amused and at that price it's a steal;). I'll network it wit my computer and see what kind of stream nonsense I can get up too, funnn.

A lot of heartfelt madness below. The expensive PS3 has USB ports, HDMI, a 60gig hard drive and rumour has it that it runs Linux. This will make a killer VDR among other things, at $650 CAN it's a steal. Oh yeah it plays games too. I can use this thing. M$ and Nintendo don't do anything I care about.

The scam when I was young was to take a crane truck, grab a nice new vette and take it out to the toolies flip it upside down in a ditch and gut it. Took about 20 min to remove the running gear.
It was kinda cool to come across a vette upside down looking like an old crab shell with all the guts missing.

To go further there have been traditional martial artists show up to fight every once in a while, they just get pounded. The Sumo guys are so bad I don't even want to watch as it's usually very brutal.
Go ahead try a throat strike, the center of unarmed combat, at say Tito Ortiz and see what he does to you;). I'd guess, depending on the dynamics and your skill, a knee to the face would be the last thing you would see.
