    Odd or ironic ?

I find it Ironic personally that the linux device can easily hijack packets from a windows stack but the driver to hijack the traffic from the mac or linux boxes are still not ready.

The true question at this point is who can't steal hijack packets from a windows box.

While people often refer to these as cores on a chip why not chip on a chip ?

For instance why does c have to be addressable to p0 p1 p2 p3 p4 p5 p6 p7 ? if p0 is working on c why does p1 need to be able to reach it ? Why not isolate each core and push c to an addressable cache strictly for the core interconnect ? Wouldn't this make for an easier way of parellel programming ?

p0c could be shared by all procs as a location in the cache , like say 0x00000001. Why not have 1 proc "supervise" the rest ? I really have never understood that. Have proc0 doling out work to all the other procs and have it scan for the other procs jobs already done. At this point the supervisor could be made super efficient and all the other procs could be say crypto/math while the others could be general purpose. Wouldn't this be more suitable for parallel computing ?

I have not had to program in years and I never really understood multi processors well enough to completely understand how they actually interconnect.

It was explained to me by some one I know who is a developer inside the MS XBOX division.

They do so because in Europe there is such a huge sector of languages. The games are usually rushed to market anyway and the time it takes them to translate every portion of text is very time consuming. Also the majority of games are written in English , Chinese , or Japanese. Not many in other languages.

He also went on to say that if they were to produce the volume of discs needed to fill that demand for a global launch it could be a disaster if it launched with a critical bug.

Personally I agree we should see global launches. They should be developed and translated in the same pass , however I feel they may never be able to meet global demand for a true blockbuster game.

The Wii is hot and very hard to get right now. And they are pushing the manufacturer for more. I don't think anything could have prepared them for the response they are getting with the wii itself either.

It won't matter to much for awhile and doesn't mean the end of blu-ray, since we don't know if it's all discs or just specific disc's made in a certain factory or what.

If Sony is the actual company who says , XXXXXX compounds must be used for our discs and here is the mix ratios , then you may see an end to the blu-ray disc. I would just buy a dual format player and enjoy the best of both worlds.
