    That is a valid question, and one that the media frequently gets 100% wrong. Non-technical media frequently describes MCAS as an anti-stall feature. It is not. The intent of MCAS is to make the control column forces on the 737 MAX feel identical to a 737 NG during a stall, so that additional training is not required when a pilot is transitioning from an NG to a MAX.

    The Speaker of the House was Dennis Hastert (R–Illinois). The change which greatly expanded delegated certification was mandated by Congress, not the FAA.     You don't apply for many bank loans, do you? Ethnicity is most certainly a question asked on a mortgage loan application. It is a part of the Uniform Residential Loan Application, Freddie Mac Form 65 / Fannie Mae Form 1103. Google them.

    No, it's pretty obvious that Amazon DOES NOT adjust adjust pricing on a per-consumer basis, and they do not use your past purchasing history to set pricing specific to you. If they did, then sites like camelcamelcamel would not work. Amazon does adjust pricing over time, but at any given time, all buyers are offered the same price.

    FYI, most "compostable" plastic cups and utensils are made from polylactic acid (derived from corn starch) and are NOT compostable in an ordinary home compost pile. They will just sit there pretty much like ordinary plastic would.     It actually did happen-ish. The design and analysis was complete, drawing were released, parts were built, and the design was tested, but no airline ever ordered the option. I last saw the qualification test rig sitting in storage at the Museum of Flight restoration center in Everett WA a few years ago.

    You are wrong. First, the vast majority of non-towered airports do not have IFR approaches, and therefore do not have any controlled airspace. If a non-towered airport does have IFR approaches, the controlled airspace typically ends at 700 feet above ground level, and is represented on a chart by a shaded magenta ring around the airport. If a non-towered airport does have controlled airspace to the ground, it is charted as dashed magenta line around the airport, but it is uncommon.

    Did you read the link? It says that 1 out of every 3 adults was prescribed opiates at some point in the previous 12 months. That's not particularly concerning if you ask me - I was prescribed them twice in that time period, once for a tooth extraction and once for a broken finger. What I thought was interesting was the amounts that were prescribed - for the teeth, the doc issued a prescription for 3 days worth. (12 pills total) For the finger, that doc issued 30 days worth, which seemed REALLY excessive.

    Other missiles have been built to withstand far higher acceleration and speeds. HIBEX had lateral acceleration of 300g during experimental testing, and in-service, Nike Sprint accelerated at 100g to Mach 10.

    I worked at a mechanical engineering/manufacturing company that was bought by a larger company with the intention of moving production to Nogales Mexico and engineering to Nogales Arizona. We were given 12 month notices of layoffs, with $20K bonuses if we stayed the entire 12 months to help the transition.
