My guess is, Dell is doing this to push/force Microsoft into according it better pricing bonuses.
The half-hearted way they are doing this just smells too fishy for me.
Customers have requested No-OS computers for years and Dell has always ignored them.
Jack : Bill, you'll have to go under the radar for this one. Nobody must know about this? I need you to use the CTU database to find a login/password for www.parisexposed.com.
Bill : Jack, this is illegal! We dont have a warrant!
Sure, it shows that Windows is harder to secure on the system calls front because it makes so many more of them (with IIS).
But to me, if the graphs aren't factise, it just confirms that Windows/IIS is way too bloated to be an efficient webserver.
Same task, similar results, but Windows requires nearly twice the computing power to do it in the same time. No wonder Unix|Linux webservers can run on older/cheaper hardware and give satisfying results...

And of course, we'd all welcome ou monthly HealthCare Patch Tuesday:P
I believe what Google assument is that YouTube alone might end up being squashed by the lawsuits and lost a lot of its marketshare/value if it had to face lawsuits on its own (Since it was starting to lack funding). Also, YouTube might have been pressured to ink bad deals in the long term to fend off some of those lawsuits.
By buying it now, they decided to play it the other way around by dealing with the problems themselves, the Google Way, with all their ressources & influence backing up the dealmaking process.
While I agree this was a costly move, I believe it was a smart one to appropriate themselves the First Mover Advantage.
...wich in itself isn't good. If you dont vote, you are actually giving ground for politically active persons/groups by either not providing opposition to their ideas, or by condoning their decision.
The only losers in all that are middle/centered politicians who might have gotten your vote with their balanced ideas, while the more extremists ones get a huge amoung of votes from their respective factions because of their inflamatory speeches/politics/decisions.
Personally, if I dont know who to vote for for some reason, I select the candidate which, according to the most recent polls, will finish 2nd, so as to diminish the majority, thus enabling debate on a fairer ground and enabling stronger opposition.
Rapid ad quantity explosion - Slowly growing target audience (Internet users) + More & More internet uses blocking/ignoring ads = Recipy for an over-bust.
Now this really fits : Don't feed the Troll
(Unless you have a +5 root sword)
