Umm, which store is this that sells M-rated games to minors? Electronics Boutique / Gamespot
Oh and everyone else
Just like movie theaters in the case of R rated films (a case could be made for a NC-17 film or AO game) the enforcement is completely non-compulsory and dependent on the vigilance of a (near) minimum wage worker who just isn't paid enough to care.
Besides kids don't have any money. Their parents are the ones buying the games for them. So I take it you didn't read TFA?
Anyway I seriously think you are over estimating the amount of time available to parents in an average two income family, allot of kids anymore receive their allowance on the and spend it no questions asked.
Yes lack of parenting is a problem, yes it's getting worse (look at serious proposals for starting public "school" at 4 and younger).
Senator Yee puts forward a nuanced, well thought out (maybe even by himself personally *gasp*) argument for a more transparent and through game rating system that in addition to having any sort of legitimacy (looking at you ESRB) may even have the force of law.
Will it STOP kids, hell no, go look at the delinquents smoking behind the High School.
But at the very least it will give the kids a reason to be nervous and think a little.
Even worse, it was an anti-war rally, they have big pieces of card stock on sticks.
They couldn't create enough of a breeze to knock a mechanical winged flier out of the air?
Not one malfunctioned or ran out of power?
Nobody threw anything?
Not to mention that DC has plenty of surface fresh water making it not exactly a terrible place for dragonflies to live.
Small point.
If you WERE in the trial you wouldn't even be allowed to read the article summary.
So unless you are saying that you would make a very bad juror, it goes without saying that you aren't one.
Maby you don't remember the flap a few years ago about the bad experation dates on some cookies on the CIA webpage but in America the government isn't even allowed to leave cookies past the current session.
Also
What if some users are uploading/downlöoading child pornography or other illegal material? How do I track down the motherfucker?
1.If they are only downloading then they ARE sick and need SERIOUS TREATMENT but guess what? At least they aren't hurting MORE people.
2. YOU don't track any "motherfucker" down. That's for police. Looks like the Lawless Wild West / Fronter Justice aspect of the Internet got to you too for a second. Imagine what would happen if someone not as restrained as you were to "stumble" across the log file of one of these web rings.
Laws aren't just to limit the Government from invading privacy but to protect us from each other as well.
Nintendo Actually threatens breaking the hardware if you have "un-authorized third party modifications" before every check for a system update.
It doesn't matter if there is even an actual update it's just hard coded before the firmware compare.
I'll start with mentioning that IANAL but after looking over the parent's Curriculum Vitae he doesn't seem to be either.
I'll second with the fact that I have been a strong Apple fan for the larger portion of my life, though simple economics seem to be swaying my heart *nix ward of late.
I'll start quoting here
It's not about unlocking phones. No it isn't it's about enumerating warranty voiding actions in the main text and not changing them without authorization or agreement.
Moreover, while end-user unlocking of handsets is legal in the US under the current DMCA exemption, the vendor is under NO OBLIGATION to support the phones in such a state with future software/firmware updates.
And end there
If you read all the included links and make a reasonable effort to understand them you'll see that the basic problem the law is put in place to solve is if little Sally Doe puts a sticker on her iPhone and then the main board frys itself then Apple must still honor(/honur) the warranty because
1. The sticker wasn't clearly and understandably a warranty voiding item listed in the terms of use or whatever.
2. The sticker was, likely, not the cause of the malfunction.
None of this means that little Susy can sue apple if she can't get all the sticker gunk off her iPhone and can't read part of it or that the touch interface won't work through the sticker, BUT if Apple has a press conference about a "War on iPhone stickers" and that they may be checking the screen capacitance during updates and disabling phones with illegal screen decorations, they can't stop serving the warranty on those bricked phones.
It's like what I used to say about pushing higher resolutions for television: Ten minutes into a GOOD show or movie and people are no longer conscious of the fact that they are watching it on a 12-inch black and white set. Until trying to focus on a tiny, blurry, noise filled image gives them a migraine and they have to go to a nice dark room and wonder how the show turned out.
I agree with the concept but in execution there are modest benefits to a crisp image.
If you believe half the things in the Anarchist Cookbook then you are probably just a teenager looking for trouble anyway and having the T.S.A. confiscate your book before you try and make "fire fudge" or whatever and end up blowing your thumbs off, is the best possible ending anyway.
Looking at the "real depth of effort" that went into the Wii's "premier" online game Pokemon Battle Revolution you can be assured of a "quality" online experience.
Please replace all words in quotes with the four letter curse word/s of your choice.
Apparently there are detailed instructions on genocide online..
We wouldn't want the kids to accidentally start wiping out entire races by accident, you know with those genocide machine schematics online.
Also, pretend I'm a Windows user thinking about switching to Linux. What's my first step? It's certainly not going to be to run out and buy compliant hardware. I'm going to try it out on the hardware I already own. If it doesn't work right away with minimal effort, I'll probably end up back on Windows, because that's what I know, it it already works. Provided that the hardware they already own is several (2-3) years old the chances of their hardware working right away with minimal effort increase exponentially.
It's the folks with brand new HD Video capture cards that want to stream live video wirelessly over an 11n ad-hock network to their palmtop who START the bitch sessions that then end up with everyone and their cousin complaining about their off brand wireless card or $5.00 "sweat shop" brand bluetooth dongles not having supported drivers.
So in the end if you don't buy bleeding edge hardware, proprietary crap, or junk from a company in china that counts the lead paint on the box as RF shielding, you can reasonably expect your stuff to work with minimal fuss, but if you want guaranteed support BUY A NAME BRAND WITH A PENGUIN ON THE BOX MORON!!!
So the reason that this makes no sense is that I am not only moving forward in time from when you wrote it but the time BETWEEN when you wrote it and when it didn't make sense is also expanding, in a 4 dimensional way?
I did, and then I cried... I have to say that it features less polish then even the first "Import your Pokemon Game" Pokemon Stadium for the N64. Other than Importing my critters from the game and a few purchasable uploads there is NIL interaction with the Cartridge or DS. Huge letdown. The only area that even pretended to try was with the announcer being SLIGHTLY less repetitive than other installments. All in all I have to say it was step backwards to lower expectations to where releasing Wii Port/Facelift of Coliseum/XD would look innovative. </bitter>

So you haven't watched the intro to the other two games have you?
They're statues, figures really... animated by, well god knows what but lets say by Master Hand (end boss/pointing device), to fight for it's amusement, or something, it's all pretty foggy thus the relevance of announcing a fleshed out story mode.
Yes, but we're talking about video games. Isn't he a movie critic?
And Rush Limbaugh is a college dropout who has worked his way up in the radio industry from Disk Jocky to where he is now.
That surely doesn't qualify him to comment on immigration or international trade but he does and people seem to listen to him... go figure.
I hear it has something to do with Charisma, I wouldn't know since I spent all my points in Wisdom and Constitution.
Well a quick WOHIS of 888.com and SecondLife.com shows that 888 is registered as operating from the British territory of Gibraltar, where as Secondlife is registered out of San Francisco California.
So last time I checked American tax law didn't apply to overseas companies.
It's not your fault for not having a distrust of authorities...
It's your parents fault.
Either nurture (hippy biker beatnik parents yeay) or nature (pathological distrust of authorities is on MY psych report) it's your parents fault for not instilling you with any logical suspicion or doubt. Watchfulness and wariness of being shortchanged ARE natural and universal traits among social mammals, if you don't know that then you've never seen two dogs eat.
I want to know the name of whatever you're taking because I could use the kind of stress relief.
But for now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go off and eat some dirt, you can have my ration of soylent green.
Hey give us Iowans some credit!!!
Nussel isn't a Congressman anymore and didn't win the Governors race.
The fact that he can't seem to get elected even with all the money in the republican party chest shows that this is just payback for all his in state campaigning for Bush Jr.
Compared to Japan most Lynch Mobs are paragons of acceptance and liberal attitudes.
Do some research before flaming please.
In a country with almost no laws on discrimination over age, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, education, voting history, or musical tastes a positive character, stereotype or not, is a big step (yes even if he is a Pro Wrestler / Comedian).
I was wondering about that as well...
I didn't see the "What will Sparter do if I lose my account because of them" question on the "extensive faq"
And anyway I thought that the appeal of online games was the equity of them, that it was all merit based and not based on raw purchasing power.
Oh and everyone else

Wait they support MAC?!? When did that sort of thing become unremarkable in it's self.

The Reason given at the time was that the Physical Size of the Firewire chips was holding back the reduction in size

I do...
All the time...
That's why they make me live 300 yards from any school, daycare or park now...
Whart does String Theory have to do with ANYTHING...
350 Pages of "Hyperspace" told me... Not much
