Back in those days, network adapters were an add on accessory. I'm not sure that having to enable TCP/IP on a machine with no network hardware is such a bad idea.
You forget how those 2003 menus would randomly hide whatever features you want unless you hover your mouse over the menu bar for an annoying number of seconds. I still run across machines with that feature and it's amazing how long interface rage can simmer.
Now you see the real reason for banning the slavery. Not because it is a-moral, or bad, but because it will cost you your job and your little house on the hill.
I'm pretty sure the guys with slaves had perfectly fine houses.
The DVR where I work can only handle 320x240 images, and only 1/sec at that (it is pulling some 24 simultaneous analogue streams however). They are almost useless for recognizing people.
On your own link, 18 of the 53 states listed (34%) showed sales tax on groceries. You can consider 66% as qualifying for "don't generally" status if you want, but I would go with at least 90%
Wow. That does seem impossible to guess. I've luckily forgotten how nearly every game was impossible without a cheat book in those days. Because I never had any money, and didn't want to win by cheating, they never got solved and I never did finish them.
Speaking of hint books, I wonder if some of the puzzles were purposely difficult just to force purchase of hint books to solve the game. Maybe DLC isn't such a new concept after all.
Some say I'm pointless,
yet many are obsessed by me.
I have caused heroic gambles
and sown endless frustration.
Uncounted deaths have I caused.
What am I?"
At this point I discovered that my failures were not entirely due to a lack of problem solving ability on my part, as I found that the majority of puzzles I had always gotten stuck on lacked any sort of logic at all (I believe there is an excellent write up on Gabriel Knight 3's issues somewhere on the net). They required the kind of creativity and problem solving ability you get at 4am from numerous bongs, a few beers and the inability to click where you want to click.
I remember getting stuck in some king's quest game because I never thought to stick a hole that was in my inventory onto a wall on the right screen. This also reminds me of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that was impossible to get through if you hadn't read the book. (Like who is going to just put a fish in their ear?)
I saw nothing that was "cute" or "proving a point" or even "being a smart-ass" in anon's narrative. It was none of the TSA agent's business why anon declined to be scanned.
Even if you are correct, do you think arguing with someone in a position of authority over something so trivial is a good idea? If so, more power to you as long as it isn't my flight!
iMessage is important because it is built in to the iphone's text-messaging app. As a user, there is no appreciable difference between the two, and you often don't even notice which path your messages are using.
Hackers DDOSed just the website itself to scare people into a sell-off then bought up the cheaper coins and waited for the price to rise again.
That's an interesting theory. How much money could these hackers have possibly made by buying bitcoins for a slightly lower price? I can't imagine it being worth any real effort to arrange something like this.
If you feel so strongly about your views, why are you posting A.C.? Should we really not try to analyze why events happen? And while we're at it, let's generalize with statements like "You can't negotiate with these guys"
The original summary doesn't specify what model of Commodore it is. According to this post, there were IBM compatible Commodores sold up through the Pentium (Not sure which Pentium) era in Europe, so it is at least theoretically possible to watch movies in low quality on such machines.
I don't know about androids, but there's no adblock for an iphone.

Anyone have a link to a hacked .exe that fixes this behavior?
Just buy it?
Most of us lost our ID's long ago and are too vain for seven-digit numbers.
What do you mean back up?
I'd have to build a mail server to regain my original id.

A raw amount doesn't mean much. What PERCENT of your income did you pay in taxes?
Or even better, how much cash does he have to live on after paying taxes?
I'm sure you are joking, but just in case someone believes you: false equivalence.

You don't generally pay taxes on the raw food used to prepare meals.
Maybe not where google is, but in Missouri, we certainly do -- well unless you have food stamps or EBT.

A Woman?

Funny. I've had 3 and 4 happen with text messages when I don't have good cell reception.

If it was a DDOS, they wouldn't have to re-architect the entire system.

They should outsource to Rockstar Games. GTA set in a Star Wars universe could be fun.
Too bad you just broadcast your unique username to dozens of slashdot readers.

Awesome. Thanks for the link to what I'm sure will be an entertaining read!
