Look at how Zynga has been tanking as far as their stock goes because while they have the eyeballs they just can't get enough people to spend money on their in game crap to make any real money.
What's interesting about Zynga and DLC is that in a lot of their games, spending money gives you tactical advantages that makes the game unfair, and thus less fun. It's pretty bad when the DLC will actually result in a negative game experience.
I happen to like the old big and bulky apple connector as it seems to be way less prone to failure than micro-usb. I have seen people have to buy new cell phones as they've managed to destroy the charging port on their phone due to loose fitting charging cables leading to wedging the plug at an angle to get it to charge.
I have an iphone 4, and as I often work in the basement for hours at a time, occasionally (hasn't happened in the last few weeks) have my phone give up on finding a signal. I have found that when my phone gives up, a simple cycling of the cell radio does not resume normal operation. It only works after a full reboot. Still, this flaw isn't that bad compared to all the problems I see my android using friends having - like always dead batteries...
Even though there is a picture that shows low fidelity, we don't really know if the image was scanned poorly, saved poorly, converted by a reporter poorly, or converted yet again for upload to the web server poorly. I'm willing to give the system the benefit of a doubt, though it's also possible that they haven't come up with enough patterns of gold and silver posts to smoothly represent millions of colors.
I was in a similar situation one time, and happened to catch a glance of the idiot in my rear view. I cut out ahead of the adjacent lane into the empty crosswalk. The idiot screeched to a stop in what was previously my lane.
So you where stopped at an intersection behind a car, noticed a car coming up on you at a rate of speed to fast to stop without hitting you, and you had time and space to accelerate and move into another lane? I don't see how that's possible, and how would you know the fast driver behind wasn't about to change lanes and you just moved into his way?
You should see Win3.1 on a Pentium 90. You get a desktop from dos nearly instantaneously. Granted, that is before any of that scanning for devices stuff was included in the OS.
Someone should do a study to determine which religion to best control the population with after an apocalypse, like in "The Book of Eli", so we can stock up on the most useful books.
Since nearly all the content people want to watch needs to be licensed willingly be the major studios, this should be no surprise. They'll just keep raising their rates until Netflix goes out of business. This is the inevitable failure of a permission-based service provider.
While I agree with you and only subscribe to the DVD/Bluray side of Netflix, what's funny is that your prediction is the opposite of this line from the summary: "Netflix is either gaining new streaming customers, or converting those expensive DVD customers into more lucrative streaming-only customers." Though, you're prediction is a bit down the road, and perhaps there is streaming money to be made right now.
+1 on the parent post. I am desperately wanting to be rid of Time Warner (though lately, at least my cable modem doesn't lose connection hourly), and I keep hearing about Google's fiber roll-out, but I have yet to find a site where I can sign up for actual service.
I was using AT&T's data plan until recently, and I had an old, grandfathered, ultra-cheap phone service plan. Even so, there was no way to have a data plan and a bill that totaled less than $90.
That's not quite true. Before I had to add the unlimited texting (for $20/mo), my data + phone + fees was around $74/mo.

I felt the same way until I realized how much time I spend looking at my computer screen and realized $1,000 isn't all that much.
If vertical space is important, why not just get a 2560x1600 30" screen?
Reminds me of the Bob Marley song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgWUnuB6quc
Except they don't have tax-exempt status.

Thank you, AC, for the well written explanation of how holograms work. I've never quite understood until now!
At least it wasn't ranch dressing...

I was wondering how these scientists can sleep at night after killing off all the matrix people living in their simulations.
It's called The Metro in Kansas City as well.
Haha I had GEOS. I still can't believe it took around 3 minutes to read 64k worth of data off the floppy drive...

Are you actually in the city limits?
You'd think someone who's so adamant about RAID terminology wouldn't be complaining about redundancy.
I'm pretty sure I saw a video of someone unlocking chain locks with a rubber band.

This person is correct, however, don't try installing any antivirus software with less than 1GB.
Unless you're using ISO 8601 then you can't claim to be using a rational date system.
It could be for those spiffy Powerpoint animations.
