I agree 100%. If they would bother to split the savings 50/50 with us, the ebooks would probably be cheap enough to become wildly successful. Instead, they seem to be using them as a "premium service" and charging us accordingly.
I would tend to agree with you, except for your specific example. About 2 years ago, I bought 5 pair of Walmart's carpenter jeans and they have managed to last longer than any other jeans i've ever had... well, except for that one pair that did sort of disintegrate.
I would only trust a comparison between two monitors if I set it up my self. It would be trivial to set the Apple display to look worse than the Dell display.
Have you seen the other system requirements for that game? 1.4GHz, 64MB Hardware T&L video... Maybe they are just assuming that nobody would bother running an old OS on a computer powerful enough to even play AOE3? Even if that assumption is incorrect, it would be correct for the vast majority of users. The few exceptions (mainly you) would just be an unfortunate loss.
The industry wants to kill DVDs since it is so easy for people to rent and copy them now days. Maybe they think they'll make more money with (Uncrackable)DRM'd replacements.
Interesting, I have a Logitech MX700, and the batteries only last 2-3 days between charges. A few months ago, the mouse completely stopped recharging. I now have to use an external charger and I rotate a couple pairs of batteries. Since you can't access your batteries, it sounds like your mouse will become useless if/when the charger or battery fails.
A lot of SUVs are actually easier to park than the average american car. My Dodge Stratus is a typical mid-size car and I see plenty of mid-size SUVs that are shorter and have a better turning circle. I'll agree with your statement as far as the full-sized SUVs go.
I found a nifty little website: http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM to try smaller versions of 10^(100,200,etc.)+(3,13,etc.) and I couldn't find any prime numbers. I suppose analyzing patterns in primes up to 1 million (only 6 digits) is not very indicitive of 10 million digit prime number patterns.
If you just wanted a ten million digit prime number, just make one...
I'll bet 100000...(10 million 0s)...13 would be prime and if it isn't, just change the end from 13 to 17 or some other likely candidate.
I was picking the closest equivalent to what I now have - a cablemodem with 6mb down/400k up and no port filtering or ip blocking. From what I understand of the article, it would be home internet connections that would be affected and thats what my response was aimed at. You seem to think its ok for the companys to either double our prices for the same service or to have to switch over to competitors that have much slower technologies.
I had a 2000 VW Golf and have personally experienced the disintegrating interior trim and the broken window regulators... I also had a boost hose from the turbo pop off (really killed performance) and problems with the sunroof.
I too have doubts about the anti-paparazzi system. From the description of how it works, it uses a video camera to aim a beam of light at the offending camera. So what if the paparazzi also has the same system? Would the two systems just cancel each other out leaving the actual spy camera available? I would also think that there are plenty of filters you could place in front of your camera to hide any retroreflective properties.
I had a p3-600@800 computer that would randomly shut down, sometimes several times a day. What was odd, is that it didn't just power off, there was an actual "Windows is shutting down" message and all my apps would gracefully close. The cause turned out to be the power supply.
That's similar to what I tell people who whine about not being able to quit smoking -- "If you stop buying cigarettes, you automatically quit smoking." Unfortunately, they never follow that advice.
There are 100% credits you can apply to your state's income tax for income taxes paid to other states. The unfair part is that even if only 25% of his work is done for the New York company, his total income tax will be at least what would result from 100% New York work.
Even if you are right, I can't say that I mind. His article may be a catalyst for some sort of anti-DRM backlash. Most likely though, this issue will be forgotten just like every other major issue that has been happening in the U.S. over the last few months.
Nice catch! I actually bothered to look at his form and missed that...

As an aside, I even had to upgrade my dad's 2.4GHz Hewlett Packard with a new video card to get that game to run...

How about almost every illegal media file on every torrent site on the net?

I just sent a test message to my work account and there weren't any ads. Granted that is just a small sample, but I wonder what is going on...
Are there really ads in gmail? I've been using it several times per day for months and have never noticed.
Exactly. The second they start using ads that annoy me is the second I add lines like http://.google..jpg/ to my block list.

So your in favor of everyone spending an extra $720/yr for basically the same service they have now? Do you happen to own an internet provider?

You can cancel Netflix at any time, but why would you want to? For about $20.00/mo I watch at least 12 movies each month.
