Actually, I have a friend who is partially deaf and they leave the subtitles on all the time. His kids are the best readers in their grades at school by a good margin thanks to always having those subtitles up.
Don't the police have computers? Can't they just query the DMV themselves? Maybe I need to sell an app that displays a fake ID on your phone if this is what they depend on.
A lot of those games are unsolvable by yourself without a guide of some sort. Who the hell puts a hole that you are carrying around on a fence, or puts a fish in their ear? Maybe it's just me, but I solved very few of those types of games.
Where does it say the kid is made to master every single game ever made?
That would be the title of this story: "Dad Makes His Kid Play Through All Video Game History In Chronological Order".
All of video game history isn't just a few chosen games.
Do you happen to have any links to some free/low cost MDM ipad/phone solutions? When I last looked everything was rather expensive for a non-profit on a budget.
Even with good earbuds and a good DAC, most people listen to songs that have been lossily compressed to 1/10th their original size and don't sound nearly as good as the original. Same with the radio now days. Everything seems to have been digitally altered from the original.
Very good points. I would like to add that even if we do come up with some rules to mitigate risk from an out of control AI, there are plenty of other countries or groups that are likely to create their AI without such controls. It'll probably end up as a huge war between good and evil AI's much like spam and spam blockers.
My friend wanted a copy of the old Disney movie "song of the south" -- which is now completely banned and disavowed by Disney -- to give to his mom who had fond memories of the movie. The Pirate Bay was the only place he could find it.
I figured it should get an insightful. Only terrorists think of ways to make bombs :D
Blu-ray resolutions are not pointless. For an obvious example, compare the sharpness of subtitles between a dvd and a blu-ray some time.
What res where you ever running that had 1600 vertical? (Unless you are talking about a 2560x1600 30" monitor that you can easily buy new)

Your superpower is subtitles?
Maybe he doesn't want to be convicted for shooting all the inconsiderate people in the theater who go to the movies for a nice spot to text.
we are a very poor non-profit, so we go the free route where ever possible.
Thank you very much for this extensive write-up!

I would say at least 40 devices.

According to google, all those copies on eBay are pirated anyway.
The Pirate Bay has always been my main go to. What's funny is that I didn't even know it had ads!

+1 to that sentiment. If this was freaking 4chan, I bet he'd be blocked.
I've never heard of all this french hating until seeing it on some internet forums. Maybe it's all started by one guy.
I suppose we should be thankful that apk is the only one here on slashdot spamming us (well other than some of the actual articles).
My work machine's ad block counter is at 83,000. I wonder how much mental stress I've avoided by not seeing them.
I always thought "the man" was too busy keeping people down and making sure that other people can't better themselves to do all that you propose.
Some brave and manly ACs around here... As an option to killing someone who punched you because you were rude to him, you could just walk away...
Wasn't Tupac shot to death? At least the jail time this guy is doing will get him some street cred.
