    let it be known, this is my cry, my plea!
    that software patents stiffle innonvation, and take it from
    the small guy, working in a garage, doing his best to devlop a product
    to the big buisness, who has the bucks to buy any patent they want. usually in quite liberal and generic form.. and can sue said small guy.

    we should stick to our own immediate needs 1st.
    which includes making the quality of life a little better,
    not improving the quality of "military defense"

    i see the day, when this can and most likely will, be a part of our data-assistant/cell/*
    and we can view eachother, while talking to eaachother,
    in some sort of virtual world or setting.
    of course, it comes with many pre-defined worlds/arenas
    such as the great outer space, mars, under water, as an ant next to a sky-scraper
    and more.. with possibilities to make your own custom "user-lands/worlds"
    ...that'll be the day!

    help the funding issues that bind many open source devlopers
    because many of them do this in their spare time, only because they have a "real job"
    and while coding open source software may be good for the world

    i wonder what kind of real legal issues that they'll be getting into now,
    considering that this provides the pvr feature, that many
    television networks, and private-tv based movie sales people
    love to hate.

    skype is a good thing, atleast i believ so..
    and it seems as though they're pushing for the mobile front
    one small step at at time...cant beat it. ;)

    not just "easier"
    but it gives you leverage with your true phone system
    and even a "way out" if you will..
    at any rate.. its not just THIS feature.. but the future ones, that do seem quite promising..

    you're right! its not the code, but the coders.
    quality vs. features.. its the biggest issue.
    thats one of the most major issues with oss projects too!
    and time-driven codeweaving doesn't exatly add
    padding to that factor of sloppy code
    not that the language isn't at fault, it by default, is quite old.

    if it were my car, it'd be time to retire it!

    or what about high school kids?
    im sure many high school kids could use a scholarship! if you're in school, kinda passes off the need for a scholarship, does it not?

    also the other thing is, if they're trying to keep experienced
    devlopers and stuff away from something like this,
    what if they're in graduate school or something, doesn't that qualify too?
    or do they have a list of schools that you must be in in order to "qualify" ?
