    the point being, its not all about pictures, as much as it is about album art.
    sure, you can view your "pictures", but its useless
    the new itms, syncs album art with your entire collection, which isn't so shabby
    but i agree, fm tuner, or user-serviceable/removeable/replaceable
    battery would be some of the better bets.

    the issue is, they cant sue everybody
    and many people stand up for themselves
    everything in the histroy of america, was 1st banned
    before it had been widely accepted

    porn, is just one of the greatest examples.

    my tip to you, send them a USPS overnighter, saying fuck you. it helps.

    I too am a gentoo linux user,
    and i must add, that if you take that site,
    with any grade of seriousness, you should seek
    metal evaluation, stat!

    the whole point of that site is just to crack
    on the userbase of gentoo,
    may of which, the site is correct about them
    knowing nothing, or little to nothing
    of what is going on under the gentoo "hood" if you will.

    well, considering if you use the default install for many other operating systems, you won't be finding a remote hole either.
    generally speaking, operating systems are relatively secure out of the box,
    its the shit you add to it, apache, php, sql, perl, ftp, etc...
    that end up really being your headache.

    in fact, i believe a study was done, (i don't remember where now though)
    about ~90% of all unix and unix-like boxes "rooted", are done so under the ftp service/daemon.

    it kinda makes people want to think twice before sharing any files via ftp, ;)

    yeah, that seems somewhat alright and everything.
    the only main factor is, i don't buy music from
    the iTunes Music Store. ..i perfer to
    have access to my music, how i want it, not how "big buisness" wants it.

    so if it isn't oog, or high-grade mp3, with non-drm,
    i don't want it, nor do i buy it.
    so it'd be a darn shame, if it cant do it for mp3s also.

    and i'd love to see what the http://ipodlinux.sourceforge.net/ipodlinux project has in store for this one.

    according to the fair use act, you are allowd to do whatever you want with whatever software you
    legally own, as long as it isn't for commercial use. this includes, making one legal copy for
    backup/archival purposes, transfering your software to any machine you own.

    and the license isn't legally binding. thats the best thing about it.

    i am a computer vendor that sells both ms and unix-like operating systems. i must put my two cents in when it comes to who is a pirate. 99% of
    the people who have purchased a linux, or *BSD system from me, have brought it back in within the time of my "limited support" agreement with them,
    to take classes, and whatnot and learn about their rights AND responsibilites as a computer user, as
    well about how to operate their unix-like enviroment.
    i also must include that i have rarely seen one
    pirate a microsoft opersting system, with
    linux
    computers that i've sold them, because overall they're satisified with the services that i
    provide, along with the pride of owning something,
    that gives back to the community.

    not to mention, its significantly cheaper ;)

    not to mention, that this idea of resource exaustment, is in fact a skew of the schematics of the U.S. Legal Courts basis. EVERYBODY has a RIGHT to a FAIR and BALANCE trial, regaurdless of Creed, Sex, Religion, Marital Status, Operating System the run, Movies they perfer, Favorite Band, how big their computer monitor is, and/or the lack thereof. ugh, i hate big companies that can do this. its just wrong. when will the usa justice system grow a pair, and tell them to go to hell? oh wait, the house and the senate is paid off FAR too good for them to pass any real law actually REPRESENTING their true constituants. ugh. sickens me.

    heh. thats all we need, people who can brag about how fast they can code.
    only problem, when coding in speed, many people make more errors
    its a proven fact that if you think through your objective 1st, and take a decent ammount of time doing so, you're more efficent.
    in fact, i believe it was in the mid-70s that the us govt, thought about increasing the work day from 8hours/day x 5days, to 10hours/day x 4 days to make it more productive for workers.

    ohiolinux.org is having a speaker about hardening apache & apache2. and it looks as though its going to be a good feature packed lineup of oss speakers. hardening apache isn't exactly an easy task.. just don't think that you're going to be totally "secure." when you drop your defenses, you're at your weakest point. apache is a great server. and they have dominant market share. who says ms will win? 1 down, 100000 to go :)
