They mentioned that they wanted to add the Quake multiplayer experience. RTFA next time. btw, "not quake 2"? Quake 2 had the best fps multiplayer of its time, so I don't know what your complaining about.
Games running in GBA mode on the DS have no idea that they are on a DS, its run within a special enviroment. Or at least as far as everyone knows, I guess the big N coulda snuck a register in RAM for if it was a DS or not, but why bother lol. Anyways, the article says it would work on the DS, the parent was wondering about if it would work on the GBA since it works on the SP. I'd say the answer is yes, the reason SP was said was pretty much everyones started refering to the GBA/SP as SP only for ease of use.
My DS works fine. I've heard that some people have dead pixels, but thats not something thats going to get fixed in a next revisiion, thats an issue with LCD technology. Sounds like an excuse by a sony fanboy to down play the story ("Nothing to see, move along") Just wait until one of those disk flys out and cuts a little kids neck open, and kills him. What will you say then? "He was playing Russian Roulette by standing near someone with a first release electronic device, for shame!"
I don't think that's going to phase firefox:) Until you switch to a non-p.o.s. browser I don't think anyone's going to take what you say seriously, Mr Anonymous Coward.
Halo 2 has both usage and its bandwidth intensity working for it. Which takes more bandwidth, a game based off the Quake 2 engine, which worked well on 56k, or a game like Halo 2, with complicated phyiscs, bigger and more open levels etc etc? Obviously Halo 2 does. That's why its more pressure to ISP's or whatever.
Thats not the point of the article. Some games depend on gamespy internally, and if they don't work out of the box now, then that makes the Mac platform even less appealing.
Since we Canadians still use 486's, apple's been hard pressed to get iTunes to work on our pc's. We still use 486's because its so damn cold, and that somehow makes sense.
I'm just glad someone is working on the DS wireless, I want some damn documentation on how it works so I can code for the thing without an expensive devkit (I know sniffing packets isnt gonna do much, but its a start)
Why would the reseller need to double the price? If they buy 100,000 units for 10,000,000 dollars, and sell each for 120$, than thats 2 million in profit. And I think the point of this is not to make money for the reseller, but to be used in schools/third world countries, where they can't afford "normal" pc's.
Easy: Hacker types aren't into the GameCube, its targeted at kids.
There's nothing kiddy about the CPU and RAM. Unless your talking about people making modchips to pirate games, then the target audience (which you got mostly wrong) doesnt make a shitting differnce.
My guess? Well the PS2 came out first, so thats an obvious, then the xbox is basically a PC, so that was easy, but also a fun challenge to get past MS's protections. Also, as you said, Nintendo uses proprietary formats.
Its news for medical/scientific nerds. I find it intereasting, because everyone else who goes untreated has died, so this is definantly some important, or at least semi interesting news.

I've heard of Elektra before, its an evil attemp to make a windows-registry clone in Linux. Ew ew ew ew.

Tell that to all the people that ended up paying to get their PS2 disk stabalizers fixed. EULA's man.

Stop being a Canada fanboy, I'm from Canada too and know damn well it's not that cold :) You just gotta learn to make fun of yourself sometimes.

Haha, an EQ fan telling someone to move out of their parents apartment? NOW I've seen everything!

The height of humour, this one.
I have visions of linux geeks loosing lots of weight, because they overclocked their SolarPC and it needs more juice.
