I believe time travels slower at the equator than at the polls. It's only changes the point of a second in a long time, but it's not nearly 20 million years, so what's the point of having clocks that accurate to brodcast across multiple lattitudes?
I hate to break it to you, but very few companies actually develop software using Python. Infact, all I've seen running on Python is Open Source projects.
I think the money should go towards helping linux, not directly linux though. This is meant so mean like advertising more so that more end users know about linux. Using Linux is so easy now adays (as long as you use only what comes with your distro/has an RPM for it, and you're hardware is compatible).
The advance towards Open Computing is up to it in standards, we just need publicity. Of coarse I'm far away from a legal expert so I don't know the rules of the game.
Maybe it's a psychological thing. After all, would you rather be fired out of a cannon or fly on an airplane? The wings make it look likes it's supposed to fly.
Actaully Gates was once arrested (so I've read) for speeding, forcing his former partner Paul Allen to bail him out. He must have been going pretty fast for that to happen.
Well it's adequate, we can push the masses to these products.
As most of you know, one of the big problems with Open Source software is the lack of compatibility. But if the majority of people are using Linux (or atleast a lot), then companies will start making software for it, and our penguin will be happy. However, without this compatibility, the internet may still go to the ruins with the viruses and spyware.
I guess overall, we want people to switch so that we play popular games on linux.
You don't hang out with Joe Public alot do you? Infact it is quite difficult to steal Windows XP, and almost everyone I know who isn't a GNU/geek is scared out of their mind that they would get suid if they visit the kazaa website, let alone install it and use it.
And OOP is still slow. I use C due to the fact that I can get 100 extra FPS out of it compared to C++ (OpenGL, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB, 490 to 587 on a 9 spinning cube shaded render)

Maybe then they'll use the money to fix slashcode.
Or get ATI drivers for Radeons that are less expensive than X850s. With that kind of money, it should be used to slay M$ the legal way.
Perfectly crafted joke. It gets funnier and funnier, ironic twists, and concludes with an original relation to the beginning of the joke.
Is it the forces will that just a second ago I watched my first episode of Star Wars?
Biometrics would greatly reduce the duplicates. Have them scan their finger before they vote.

The real question to ask is 'How many posts in this thread will NOT be redundant?'
I wonder if I can run Linux on it...
Remember now, microsoft writes the most popular windows compiler...

That's why what they are saying is true.
improved desktop searching and organizing
I really hope it's not based on the "New MSN Search!" Atleast the current search program finds what your looking for.
I beleive .ws was one, am I correct? .tk was pretty successful at giving out free ones, but I don't think many people actually paid for them.
Alot of places gave .info domains away for free as far as I recall... so they are being used.
I think it's more of the challenge that drives us to it.
Either that or a group of people get really bored.
Bush got re-elected president?! Oh god I thought his term was up... I should get out more.
That's not funny that's just annoying... we'd get even more internal server errors then usual, along with the bad M$ error page.
Does California to Virginia include New England?

It's not stealing unless there's a patent ;)
Congradulations, you are officially one of the million users on slashdot. Now how about the rest of the world still using their name as a password?
Although Microsoft hardware isn't as picky. I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (or some confusing name) and Fedora Core 3.

I first used a computer when I was 6. I'm 14 and have a good knowledge of C++, PHP, SQL, Perl, and the basic web languages.
