I'd love to pick up a PCI Express based motherboard, but still nothing out for my 64 yet.

By the time they get a PCI-E board for the A64, AMD will be using a newer pin number IIRC, therefore making us poor sods to go out and buy a new CPU. :(

However, console game developers have the massive advantage of knowing exactly what specs their target box will come out on, therefore knowing any possible hardware incompatibilities, and not having to worry about minimun specs etc.

with the newer generations becoming more computer smart, the market will swell steadily.

Hehe. Have you seen the new generation? They're becoming much less smart. Besides, they're not intrested in using computers for games. In the general majority of young people computers are used for MSN/Hotmail/Browsing/Whatever. Games are what you buy an XBOX/PS2/Gamecube for..

This july will be an amd64

That's rediculous. How can you plan a computer purchase 6 months in advance? Besides, from what I've seen/heard there will be plenty of new Intel CPUs coming out that will wipe the floor with the current A64s. Computers just don't work like that, things change just so rapidly you have to make your purchase choices about a week before you go out and buy it.

  11. As long as Fedora stays the same.. on Fedora Core 3: Worth The Upgrade? · · Score: 0

It will never be as good as Debian or Gentoo. For one reason: portage/apt. The ability to pick a package (let's say for example, GNOME) and have it download and compile it and all it's dependancies from one command (apt-get install gnome, not sure how portage works) makes these two distros easily the best of the bunch. The fact that while Debian is something I don't classify as a newbie os can be so easy to use shows that it's far ahead of the rest. Fedora's just a joke. Shiny, but ultimately a joke.

Everyone knows about the old put: "answer to life the universe and everything" into Google and get 42 in Google calculator, as seen here.

Well the new MSN search has the _exact_ same thing shown here.

In my opinion, that's a pathetic rip off of a good Google joke. Micrsoft doesn't have a true sense of humor (or at least I've never seen evidence of it), but Google definitely does, A la the famous Google Moon Base april fools joke etc. All MSN search can hope to be is a glossed over clone of Google, they've been their first, they've found all the cool stuff.

But hey, that's just my 2 cents (including GST)

One day, a computer company could own everything, have the legal rights to everything without any liabilites, and maybe even pull us into a seudo-orwell society. Scary, but is it possible?
