You are quite happy to ignore the falling US dollar, which has contributed more to oil prices than anything else. You also need to look at the growing economies of China and India, and a myriad of other factors.
It might be fun and convenient to blame it on someone else, but the world is more complex than that.
It is the same situation in Australia as it is for the US. The country and cities are very spread out, people have a lot of space. This does present a lot of problems in today's climate, the Europeans have it right for once.

You are correct, but the issue is a complex one. Ask yourself why we have targets and league tables in the UK? Because there is a perception that schools have been failing students, and there is no way to accurately judge schools/classes/teachers, without targets and league tables, just as it is impossible to know how well a student is doing without tests/essays/exams.
I remember i was looking at being a teacher once, so I was tagging along with a teacher in class. This one test, the smart girl finished early, and told the teacher. So they teacher just told her to sit quietly and wait for the end of the lesson (which was the end of the test for everyone else). I was dumbstruck, the kid was sitting there for 20 minutes, doing nothing, when she could have been doing some work!
It would be great if you could do something about this. Why don't you write a article for the newspaper? Nothing is going to change if we all just sit idly by, while this sort of shit goes on.
I don't mind it, have just started using it. But it is ugly, damn ugly. Everything else looks great, because it highlights all the combination's of letters, it looks really messy. Everything else looks so damn pretty.

You can't easily count bittorrent downloads, especially since they are only counting completed downloads.
But you are correct, it is silly of them to not host the file somewhere else. Even if they build up the hardware sufficiently, which they didn't seem to do, what are they going to do with it afterward?
