Because, if I remember correctly, Sarek was opposed to Spock joining Starfleet. Many things can be said about Vulcans, but I don't believe "hypocrite" is one of them. Although, I suppose he could have opposed Spock's joining because he, himself, had a bad experience as a member of Starfleet.
It drives my family crazy whenever they come to my house with a new WiFi-enabled toy, but I am sure that no errant devices can make it onto my router without me entering their MAC address into the router's table.
I have thought about installing Signal, but then I always remember the laundry list of permissions it wants access to in order to install. This app is supposed to make us feel comfortable about being "secure" but it asks for way more privileges than any other app I have ever installed. And speaking of "ever", given the recent Evernote announcement, I worry about giving another company access to THAT MUCH of my phone's contents.
I have a Dell Latitude E5440 running Linux Mint (17 - Rebecca), and I have issues with WiFi from time to time; mostly dropping the network and not being able to get it back unless I reboot the laptop. It's a real pain.
I agree 100%. The last thing I want is for some potential employer or business associate to see me with my shirt off in my son's wading pool wearing a big hat with zinc-oxide on my nose. Some things just don't mix well.
When, exactly, did he become the main authority of all things computer and hacking? What he did was, indeed, a service to our country, but is he really the go-to person for any and all computer related questions?
Surely there are more authoritative sources out there to answer questions such as these.
One, it's a bit of a cumbersome slot. You've got this thing sticking halfway out.
I have a 2 year old Dell Latitude E5440 with an SD card slot that does not stick out at all. When I insert it, it snaps cleanly in place and flush with the body of the laptop.
I guess Dell has the patent on this type of technology.</sarcasm>
I really don't care how they did it, I'm just glad they did. The government is saying that Russia is interfering in the 2016 elections. Where the government says "interfering" I say "informing". I, for one, am glad they are letting us know just what kind of crap Clinton is trying to pull on us. I am glad that we finally have a first-hand peek at the underhandedness of our elected officials. I mean, if she tried this stuff before the election, just think about what she would feel privileged enough to try if she gets elected.

I understood that reference.

Haven't they seen any asteroid movies ... ever?!?!? Nukes won't work.
Thanks for the input!
What beginning equipment would you recommend for a person who would like test this hobby? No expensive equipment.

What is everybody else's opinion on Signal?

Agreed ... I have a dual SIM in my $200.00 Huawei Honor 5X. This is NOT a new thing.
It is foolish for any company to enter making a new car when they could just sell their hot new tech into cars.
Tell that to Elon Musk

The good news is that Madagascar will survive.
I like to move it, move it ...
I like this quote. Mind if I steal it?
I used to use Genie back in the day. I thought I was Matthew Broderick in WarGames ... a real computer bad-ass.
Touché

That was awesome ... thank you!

When all armies are made of robots, it will be senseless for them to fight each other. They will then be used to attack civilians.
Don't forget to add "the 99%" to your statement. It will be us regular folk that get it, not the rich and powerful.
