  1. I hope Sarek isn't part of Discovery's crew. on Star Trek Discovery Gets Delayed Again As Spock's Father Is Cast (hollywoodreporter.com) · · Score: 1

Because, if I remember correctly, Sarek was opposed to Spock joining Starfleet. Many things can be said about Vulcans, but I don't believe "hypocrite" is one of them. Although, I suppose he could have opposed Spock's joining because he, himself, had a bad experience as a member of Starfleet.

  9. Thought about installing Signal on Encrypted Messaging App Signal Uses Google To Bypass Censorship (pcworld.com) · · Score: 1

I have thought about installing Signal, but then I always remember the laundry list of permissions it wants access to in order to install. This app is supposed to make us feel comfortable about being "secure" but it asks for way more privileges than any other app I have ever installed. And speaking of "ever", given the recent Evernote announcement, I worry about giving another company access to THAT MUCH of my phone's contents.

What is everybody else's opinion on Signal?

I mean, if she tried this stuff before the election, just think about what she would feel privileged enough to try if she gets elected.
