In the old days (yesterday) when I was using Empathy's Jabber/XMPP to do remote desktop control and file transfer, this was built in. Now how can I help gram-ma out?
Having just gone through the process of installing the nVidia driver it does seem strange that that nVidia doesn't release a script so you don't have to go out of x (the graphical system) and then go back into the graphical system manually. I find Intel is doing a better job of 3d graphic suport. Too bad all the decent cards are nVidia or ATI. I guess a little pain for the long term gain. Also, with OSS other graphic card campanies can become main stream easier. Hang in there Linux users the I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
It is a bad thing if you want your kid to suceed in life and not just with M$ software (diploma). Giving your kid the ability to manipulate software helps your kid learn more because learning isn't subjected to "the Microsoft way of doing things". Long term sucess requires the source code (knowing how someone did that in the past).
I know suse 10.1 doesn't support the Broadcom 43xx:( , but if you go to kernel.org the latest stable release finnally supports it. It seems I have been jumping trying to get drivers, for the last few years know they are finally getting within reach.
I made a test page at http://hythe.ca/events.html and it allows anyone to add the community supper this week to their google calendar. And everything exports from google calendar to my KOrganizer, so I am happy. P.S. If you want to come to our community supper you are welcome:)
After installing opensuse 10.0 on my Acer Aspire 3500 notebook my wireless g version worked fine. Sure there is issues, but what OS doesn't. I think we are only 1 year away from wireless cards been support like ethernet cards are. Keep programming for the gnu gpl!
In Canada we are left out in the cold M$ world. :(

Having started to use Linux as my Desktop as well as for my servers I was looking forward to getting this device. This is what www.Nokia.ca told me.

If you go sites like http://creationism.org/ or http://icr.org/ you will find more proof that we are living on a young earth rather than one that is 4.3 billion years old.
A few evidences are:
Lack of dust on the moon.
Vegetation found on the south pole.

I also am overjoyed at being able to point people where to buy Linux pre-installed. Too bad we can't buy the Dell Inspiron E1505n in Canada.
Shift+Tab doesn't work here. Instead it brings you to the next hyperlink. http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/GnuCash -We need to help
"We are the borg, we will assimilate you" If only the EU could stand up to Steve's hurling of chairs. :)
