There are 3rd party software packages that assist in uninstalling chaotic windows apps. While you shouldnt need to resort to this (install points should be good enough), these utilities can and do work -- even with tree/branch dependencies.
No, Longhorn Server has a new installation class called CORE. With core, the diskspace is only 500MB and memory footprint is way lower -- because GUI is not installed. Funny they still call it Windows when it doesn't have Windows (but does have the NT part).
Windows isn't closed source in a way no one can read it -- universities and governments have had access to the code for a long time. It would be pretty easy to figure out if they do have prior "art" in particular code source files or not.
I suggest dual booting as many people at least like video/games once in a while. If you have an pre-existing XP system and would like to virtualize it, check out VMware Converter: http://www.vmware.com/whatsnew/converter.html
Having used Vista for a few months now, I would say it still hangs from lost I/O connections. While they say it suppose to work better now, it hangs as it always has. Perhaps they will patch this with SP1.
With new Javascript exploits which detect internal network information, there could be a decreased use of Javascript at companies and enterprise networks. This could hurt AJAX.
IBM's OSs are only as good as the weakest link. Many social security numbers have been stolen through IBM's OSs because applications written for it are weak. In addition, the best hacks are never/rarely detected -- all it takes is one good hole. [que NSA theme song here]
I have lots of old games that stopped working at DOS 3.31 (which I am still looking for). I think DOS 4+ got rid of some old interrupts that old games required.

I've heard that industrial hemp would be 2x to 3x more efficient in producing Ethanol than other techniques. Can anyone here verify this?

As all the OSes mature, I'm sure they will all borrow good ideas from each other.
Sweet, VMS functionality isn't being lost.

say no more.
Does VMware emulate ECC memory? It would be nice if it did.
Doesn't AMD SVM do the accelerated shadow page table translation now? I think VMware will be beta testing that real soon.

Maybe humans won't fix this mess but instead the machines will.

HT3 will support specialized coprocessors, yay!
I agree. Add a WINS server. Windows 2000/NT4, it doesn't matter (those can be found cheap or free :-)
The problem with VMware is trusting the source who compiled the image. Rootkits on a [closed]source-code machine is a big no-no.
