AT&T arent a european operator. Thats probably why. When I went to Mallorca on holiday, I recieved a text informing me of roaming charges and my operator is UK based.
Ok, so assuming they can crack one capcha with an accuracy of 10%, why not use multiple capchas on signup - say 5 in sequence?
The next capcha should only be generated and loaded once the previous one has been entered ( or passed? ).If an invalid entry is entered at any stage, all of them are invalidated and have to be regenerated and re-entered. thus the probability of cracking the entire thing goes from 0.1 to 0.1^5 = 0.00001.
If this is something thats only done once - at signup it shouldnt be massively inconvenient for people as its not something they will encounter every day. After all, there isnt as far as i can see a mass public backlash to the entering of serial numbers for game installs.
Its not a perfect solution but it should act as a stop-gap measure until something better is devised, that is implementable relatively easily using the current tech used for generating capchas
How do you know that's not their next step, once testing of the download part has been completed? It makes sense from their perspective to test with what they have already.
You see the prefs option on the control bar to the left? that lets you turn it back into the classic discussion mode - you can also configure all the other options to your liking from there
Ive just had a quick check.
There is a shared items area in my google reader, however none of my feeds are listed in there.
that is to say - they are not shared by default.
Granted, the feature is there but its hardly invading my privacy without me having a say in what can and cannot be displayed - and by default for me nothing is.
actually, fta:
Although the problem occurs where users are running Kaspersky security products, it's a kernel leak that lies at the root of problem (the problem's not confined to systems running Kaspersky software, that just that this application seems to exacerbate the issue).
who modded this post insightful?
Congress passes a law to protect US citizens from unscrupulous gambling operations that are not subject to the same kind of regulations that Casinos in the U.S. must meet -- and the world responds via the WTO by trying to extort $100 Billion dollars from the U.S extort you say? Its a simple matter of recriminations. You break a treaty commitment and continue to stick your head in the ground about it despite being notified several times then someone will come along with a stick and suggest you get your house in order. If you don't like it, fine - leave the WTO, but don't pretend for a second that the world will let you use the WTO as a club to get things that benefit America to happen elsewhere and then turn a blind eye when you don't abide by the rules you drum into others.
With MSOffice 2007, due to the default file format issue, EVERYONE has to get it AT THE SAME TIME. Or they won't be able to open the documents that other people are creating don't forget the 2003 compatibility pack, or even the office viewers... As for the retraining part of moving to office 2007, I completely agree. My university has recently shifted onto office2007 and most of the lecturers took a few minutes just to figure out where the 'open slideshow' button disappeared to in powerpoint. Most of them complained about it while trying to find what they wanted, and some of these are UI and computer experts.
I think corporations that get spammed, including ISP's should be able to go to companys like DoubleClick and e360 and bill them for the aggregiate costs. "You sent 2 million emails through our network last month, here is your bill for 200k for bandwidth + costs for the end users" unfortunately that same logic could be applied to other sites that the ISPs want to extort
"Hello Google, you sent x Gigabytes of data through our network to our customers, here's the bill for the bandwidth used..."

After TCP and/or UDP ports are discovered using one of the other scan methods, version detection interrogates those ports to determine more about what is actually running. The nmap-service-probes database contains probes for querying various services and match expressions to recognize and parse responses.
A paper documenting the workings, usage, and customization of version detection is available at http://insecure.org/nmap/vscan/.
If you dont want to be modded as troll, dont refer to things in unnecessarily derogatory terms such as "linuzzz" I fully agree with the mods decision to mark you as a troll on that basis.
Programming for windows is subject to the same legal worries as far as licenses are concerned, dont kid yourself that its only an open source issue.
Yes, you need to put thought into any license you release things under - Does it suit your requirements for one? If not, thats the wrong license to use - and theres nothing stopping you from defining a license of your own which does meet them
Planetarion is being ended by them though - the next round is the last.

ethics was never a component of capitalism, we should not be surprised when companies realize that its more profitable to ignore them.
