Personally, i think Canadians pride themselves on being not-american , yet reaping the rewards of being so goegraphically close to america.
Its like a utopian society!:D, all the nice 'toys' , with none of the lawyer crap
heh seems so:). it eventually spewed out:

this wasnt intended as a flamebait:(, he genuinely does tell us to get a life for liking ie or windows. furthermore he has told us that getting a mac is a good idea.
Personally im not keen on macs , hence "problem is"
the university where im at, the lecturer on our web authoring course encourages us to " get a life " if we like windows, or internet explorer.
Problem is, hes a mac fan and encourages us to get one of those instead.
cant have it all i suppose
Not only is google the more accurate at what i wanted, it also returns the most results, and faster.
I dont know about any of you guys but im hardly impressed with accoona
you also need something non-microsoft.
Something which doesnt let things install by themselves, and as Administrator a-la-exploit ( and theres plenty already, and probably more to come, before you "get sp2" fanboys start shouting )
making t so when people see an advert and dont immediately go and buy it, you can go to jail?
The state of mind of your politician is untenable, and the stench of corporate corruption is overwhelming.
i just hope other countries dont go down this path of insanity, that america seems inevitably will.
how long before the mass exodus of americans who actually have a clue happens? like for instance to canada after bush cheated\b\b\b\b\b\b\bwon the election.
its only a matter of time before america needs to be quarantined for the sake of sanity in the rest of the world, and a sad set of affairs it is too
its the people who willingly abuse it
patents, when applied for and granted PROPERLY are a good thing. However when they`re just used to cover your bases, so you can wait for some unlucky person to come along and try to do what youve patented, you can slam him with a lawsuit.
i think it was suggested a fair few stories like this back by someone for a use it or lose it style system, although it would create more lawsuits short term. it might just reduce the lawsuits which wait for a company or person to become nice and fat, for skimming.
The best solution would be to have those staff at the US patent office especially, but also other patent offices around the world to have the time, staff, training and ability to scrupulously check every single application. perhaps barring those who apply for dodgy patents for a year or two? might be a little extreme to do that but its an idea at least.
Some of the stories on/. sound remarkably like an advert by someone trying to ( for some unknown reason ) get their server slashdotted. has slashdot become merely a " adverts for geeks, stuff that doesnt always matter ( or survive ) " site ?
that aside, ive still to get around to upgrading my fedora install to fc3. i think ill wait another week or so for any potential problems to have been found out by others ( read: i feel lazy )
Cant they just Fking PICK ONE and stop trying to out-do each other in the 'snazzy name dept', so they can pool research and get a better product at the end of the day?
is it to just to make sure that EVERY time you use a buffer, you make bloody sure it wont overflow. even if it means trucating the data being poured into it up to the buffers capacity?
Offtopic but, what the buggery is the american obsession with silly acronymns nowadays?
are the american people so stupid that they`ll fall for anything with a catchy sounding sequence of letters for a name?
Examples : P.A.T.R.I.O.T. , S.T.O.P. , I.N.D.U.C.E. etc etc.
Im sure a word is thought up, and the words describing what the new law is about are fitted around it.
(ps) For those that dont quite realise what an acronym is ( im guessing Bush + Co and a moderate chunk of their supporters ) - look here
why dont banks just set up 'monitored' accounts and put a little bit of money in it, then follow the trail
Phisher thinks theyve caught someone out, logs in and transfers money away ( im guessing to a relay account unless they`re REAL stupid ) , which relays on and on until it eventually gets somewhere the phisher can do something with
the money ( or goods they might buy with it online ) have got go to somewhere, right?:)
to me, it sounds like a knee-jerk, petty reaction from bungie
" talk about it and we ban you " is daft, you cant stop people talking about it
however, if they`d said something like "talk about where to get it on our forums and we'll screw you over" or along those lines, it'd have sounded more sensible
to me at least.
