Surely, with SCO as desperate as they are, and MySQL being their 'lifeline', they cant go all-out on the GPL as they have been in the press incase they anger the folks at MySQL?
That being the case, is there any chance that IBM could pick up on this and run with it in their case vs SCO?
"look here judge, SCO says the GPL is evil and unconstitutional but they're partnered with a company which uses it."
this is precisely what i meant:)
You could have a listing of hash values for crc, md5, all the way to sha-512. ( they could even be combined in a plaintext.hash file and automatically processed to verify the integrity of the file )
Im no expert but wouldnt using several different hashes on the same file be better?
Sure you could get a hash collision in one or more of them but getting the collision to happen in all would be somewhat more tricky no?
they better be transmitting more then the location otherwise the phone wouldnt work:).
I agree with the main point you're making. The US is fast becoming an orwellian society imo
perhaps a fixed amount could be allocated from taxes only then - and donations to parties/individuals running for office forbidden. Removes the potential for the buying of interests doesnt it?

Leave for a better country, Canada perhaps.
