GBPVR allows me to only have one box to support. I use a Hauppauge MVP ($40) for my front-end, it is noiseless and makes for a nice living room experience. Pluggins for everything you can imagine and if you can imagine it better you can write your own.
surely OSX on a commodity PC is what we're all waiting for??!
This has been done. I know some guys who were at PowerPC. They shipped the first box that booted! Bottom line you may get it to work, but you will not get the Apple quality you are used to
Just a point. There are a few hundred million people in the US. All of them are not arrogant and conceited, any more than all the French are rude and smelly, all Muslims are terrorists, or all the Chinese are great at math.
You forgot "all white people can not dance" oh wait that's true...
Why would casinos want to keep compulsive gamblers out? Unless they're also compulsive winners...
Liability. Once they have registered with the casino by law the casino is required to keep them out. So, the casino is responsible for all of there winning, losing and falling off of the wagon. In other words the casino gets sued.
Very cool technology. Casinos will most likely implement something like this first. In Nevada it is state law that if someone has registered as a compulsive gambler the burden is on the casino to keep them out.
Most people at/. think the hardest and easiest thing to do is use a computer.
I am often confused...are we supposed to feel superior to everyone else, because we can use computers? or Are computers so easy to use anyone can do it?
That was GREAT!
You've always been able to upgrade IE on its own. Heck, I remember installing IE4 over IE3 on NT ten years ago. This is hardly a new feature for IE7.
You are correct. This is posted from IE7 on Windows XP.
*Anything* can be done...ClearCube Technology can send VGA 200 Meters on CAT5, http://www.clearcube.com/ but that does not mean it is to spec.
BTW how much did that cable cost?
What is the distance limits for the vidao output?
1 - 100 meters over CAT5 if you build a front-end
2- 2 meters for video extension

I don't even like drinking with myself...why would I want to drink with a bunch of Science geeks, and Sci-Fi freaks
One can only hope that Alienware support and hardware won't be ill effected by this acquisition.
Who calls support these days?
The only time I have someone call it is because they do not want to do it themselves. It is just a PC...
What about all of us Ag majors???
I mean a poultry science degree from Texas A&M has worked for me.

Tandy was Microsoft's very first corporate customer, but they told him no when Bill wanted to provide the OS for the TRS-80.
I have the same setup, only it is a 13" TV and no surround sound. OK so it's not "the same", but it is cheap.

I think that this could be the very first Slashdot thread composed entirely of AC posts.
I'm not scared! The psychopath is also illiterate...

Quanta is based in Taipei, Taiwan.
Oh and Microsoft is giving this away for free, so no need to buy RIM's enterprise software.
They are NOT giving away Exchange 2003, which is required for push e-mail to work with Windows Mobile.
Shouldn't the image on the screen rotate to portrait when in tablet mode?
