If it's been around for 60 years, any patents on it would have expired long ago, unless they've been keeping it "trade secret" all this time; and, given the amount of information in TFA, that doesn't seem likely. Personally, I'm wondering why other companies aren't competing on this (yet).
So a position paper from the Cato Institute, a renowned far-right wing "think-tank", entitled "Does Barack Obama Support Socialized Medicine?" (not an inflammatory or pre-judgmental title at all), dated from before the election, NOT after the final bill was passed is "informative"??? Really? I guess that'll have to do, since there's no "clueless lying propaganda" mod.
So, perhaps if you took two entangled particles, and measured the momentum of one, and the position of the other, you could extrapolate the total state of one of them. JUST LIKE THE SUMMARY SAYS
I wouldn't want to take a math (or programming, for that matter) class that didn't have a big whiteboard in the room. Nothing beats the interactivity of a teacher with chalk in his hand.
...neutrinos... have no charge... are not expected to interact with the earth's magnetic fields according to the current theory.
Oh. Well, if it's according to current theory, that's OK then.
For 30 some years of my life, I was told (by current theory) they were massless. Matter of fact, current theory still doesn't have a good number for neutrino mass.
While the Standard Model might have a lot in the way of predictive power, it doesn't have a lot in the way of explanatory power. How about you just add this uneven distribution factoid to the list of things you can't explain and get back to us when you have a theory that works from first principles.
Expect "DNS-and-Bind" and the other "it isn't happening, and even if it were, so fucking what, and a wizard probably did it anyways" crowd to be trolling through here any minute now.
I wouldn't be in a such hurry to claim the Rutherford atom. I can't think of too many ideas (that won't go away from the popular imagination) that are the source of more wrong thinking. It's one of those ideas that actually impedes understanding.
A police officer has reviewed the tape, and has issued a ticket that says you ran a red light. If you think any traffic ticket carries a presumption of innocence, then you've never been to traffic court. The only reliable way to beat a traffic ticket is if the officer doesn't show up at court. Otherwise, it's your word against his - and guess what? - his word always wins.

Why do they say "I before E, except after C"? Their weird.
You loose. Slashdot has it's own set of rules. Besides, you should of said "asplode".

We talked about this a month ago. Too lazy to look it up. Lots of jokes about sending tanks to Jupiter and such.

I'm pretty sure they meant "fisted".

Unless you're a Republican or a corporate shill, that is.
Think of the "GULP .... AWWWW CRAP!!!" look you could give the camera just before you start to plummet when you step off in LEO.

Exactly. Bad summary. FAIL != NOT DEPLOYED
Meanwhile, with it being about 1650 AD in that part of the world, I can see why commanders aren't keen on using this on civilian crowds.
